Fifth Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Petra wanted to do an orange and black half-moon manicure for Halloween, so she carted her supplies down to the common room and started flipping through channels on the TV, looking for something to provide background noise while she worked and entertainment while she waited for her nails to dry. She found...crazytown.

After a few moments of jawdropped amazement, she concluded, "I don't know who this drunk lady is but I appreciate her commitment to insanity."

"...lots of people?" Petra guessed. "Lots of punch recipes have alcohol, I mean. But at a high school dance it's just some brat snuck in a bottle of something to dump in there." Probably Jenny Sparks, not that Petra knew that.

"Yep," Petra confirmed. "I actually make a lot of my clothes. It's easier, because I'm so freakin' tall and I have a fit problem at the crotch, and it's cheaper, because I'm broke. And I can just, you know, make what I have in mind instead of searching a dozen stores and half the internet and still not finding it. My mom taught me. She's a seamstress." She gestured to the cloud-printed pajama pants she was wearing. "I made these pants. I didn't make my hoodie, though, I mean, who sews their own sweatshirts?"

"Well, times are different now," Petra told her. And she was willing to bet not everyone just used alcohol for medicine where Rilla came from, either. "It's still not cool to get people drunk when they don't know the punch is spiked, though."

"She has people to do her costuming, makeup, filming her, directing her, probably holding cue cards or running a teleprompter," Bruce listed. "And probably several others. I could get into more detail, but it's not that important. Just know that there are several people on the set with her as she's recording this who have to deal with it in person."

"It depends," Petra said. "I mean, like anything else, you can spend crazy money on fabric if you're not careful. And you can buy, like, a Corporation-made t-shirt from China for cheaper than you could buy the material. But, like, I wear a lot of skirts and dresses, and I save a ton of money that way."
