Second Floor Common Room, Saturday night

Popcorn. Nuts. Cookies. Pretzels. Chips. A liter of Diet Coke. And one of those Barry Plodder movies on TV.

Hello, Denial, Kenzi's old friend. Nom nom nom noooom.

Food. And TV. Both of those, Rapunzel had come to find, were excellent distractions.

And company also helped. Which was why she found herself wandering from floor to floor. And why she stopped on the second.

Food. TV. Company.

"Hey," she said, waving awkwardly.

Denial was a good friend of Freddie right now, as well. He came in with his PearPad, and sat down on one of the couches.

"Oh hey, Barry Plodder. I like these movies," he said, only the faintest smile on his face.

"Snack... attack?" Rapunzel wasn't familiar with that particular phrase.

But she smiled because it sounded funny!

"Aww man, that's one of my favorite parts," he said. He leaned over and snagged an offered cookie.

He punched at his PearPad and groaned. "Come on, stop giving me these stupid shellac errors."

"Stupid internet says the iCarly server is down," Freddie said. "And no amount of refreshing is getting it to, you know, load right."

He looked a little bit like he was on edge of a breakdown. "Maybe I should just... eat the cookie."

Rapunzel shook her head.

"Not yet..." But she was sure that Kenzi was about to educate her.

"Yeah, it hasn't worked since last night when something knocked Carly offline during iCarly," Freddie said, biting into the cookie. "It's weird, like... can't get hold of anyone weird."

"Yeah," Freddie said. "Oh hey, I actually really like these effects. Even if they are kinda creepy. It kind of stinks, though. We had a pretty good show going last night, too. One of my teachers tried to make me kiss a goose for a Klondike Bar."

"Of all of them?" she asked, eyes wide. That seemed like a lot.

"Okay..."

Rapunzel may have been hesitant, but she was sure that Kenzi wouldn't lead her astray. So she reached out and scooped up a handful of popcorn. Then tried to add a handful of pretzels to her already-full hand.

"I... tried to," Freddie admitted, actually grateful for the distraction. He took another bite of cookie. "But then it got weird and all the geese escaped. Which probably was a better end to the bit. Though it did mean I didn't get a Klondike Bar."

"Oh, thank you!" Rapunzel took the bowl and dumped her awkward handful of snack food into the bowl, then began to consider which to start with.

"That was the problem, actually," Freddie said, even chuckling a little. "When Mr. Madrox raised the goose, it started pecking him right in the face. I'm just glad it wasn't my face it attacked."
