Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

It was Sunday morning, and after a week of largely handwavy moping about, Wesley woke up and felt like brunch was in order. And it seemed as though Fandom agreed with him, because by the time he was finished retrieving food he'd had delivered and preparing some himself, the end result was a quantity quite a bit larger than what he'd intended.

So -- brunch, then. There were caffeinated beverages, there was juice, there was moddable brunch-type food, and Wesley would just be sitting here and hoping that other people would show up because really, this was just ridiculous.

[[idk. i'm bored. open common room!]]

And that would be Jack coming back from his morning run and... sniffing out free food.

"Man, I know we don't know each other," Jack said coming into the common room. "But I'm about to propose marriage to you."

Mmm. Nothing like carbs after a morning run.

"Fine," Jack joked as he rolled his eyes. "Break my heart. Just don't take my carbs away."

Jack shrugged and took a bite of a bagel. "Eh. People will show up. It's free food," he said with his mouth full of food. "They probably just haven't gotten up yet. Ever try to get a normal teenager to get up before noon? Rarely happens."

...

"Unless there's free food and bacon."

Well Jack was a middle-aged man in a cloned body of a teenager. We'll just have to guess what Wesley's excuse is.

"Well I've always been an early riser," Jack admitted. "Running in the morning and such. And you... are British? I don't know. I'm Jack. Jack Carter."

After his Sunday morning workout, some food sounded like a good idea. Fortunately it also smelled like a good idea since eggs didn't usually make sounds. Unless there was an animal in them, but then they would be for brunch.

"Morning, everyone," Bruce said. "Who put this together?" It had to be asked. There was a chance that one of the... less skilled chefs in the dorms tried to do it, and that could end in food poisoning.

"I'll just call you Wesley," Jack said shaking Wes's hand. "Otherwise people will probably think I'm addressing an entire nation instead of you."

"Morning Bruce," Jack said with his mouth partially full of some kind of carb. "So glad you could join us."

"I've never tried anything she's cooked," Bruce admitted as he grabbed a cup of orange juice to get started. "It seems pretty infamous, though."

"I trust that you actually know what you're doing in the kitchen?"

"Jack," Bruce said, giving a nod of greeting. "Did you contribute anything to the brunch, or are you just a customer like me?"

"A strangely specific bar, too," Bruce said, quirking an eyebrow. He piled some eggs and toast on a plate, making a quiet assumption that these weren't ill-gotten ostrich eggs. "Do I want to ask about it?"

Really? Is it a law only Gunn can call him that?

"Well I'll thank you for that," Jack chuckled. "Plus 'early riser' just doesn't roll off the tongue very well."

"I'd like to think of myself less of a customer and more of a completely mooch," Jack admitted. "Unless you count my sparkly personality."

Much like Bruce and Jack, Bobby had also finished up a morning workout (in the form of a run) before coming back into the dorms. Yes, he knew he didn't seem the type. But there it was. "I'm either having some sort of smell-based hallucination, or there's food in here," Bobby said, poking his head into the common room.

Swiftly followed by the rest of him, once he verified that it was, yes, that second thing.

"I think I'll stick to calling you a mooch," Bruce joked.

Jack looked around the room. "Well not at the moment. So why all the free food? Or were you just really hungry?"
