Watching television was always an interesting experience if you asked Loki. Tonight was no different as America's Next Top Model was on.

"I was far more attractive than any of these girls," Loki decided, settling in to watch them bad-mouth each other during the confessionals.

And he could walk better as either gender, thank you.

"I'm not complaining," Tara promised. "I'm the one who was on a runway like a week and a half ago, so ... I can deal with the objectification for a little while."

"It appears they do more whining than I had thought from that unfortunate weekend I was a woman." A beat. "The first time."

"I had to be a guy three times," Tara said sympathetically. "But you ... might be working on some kind of record."

She frowned at the TV. "Yeah, everybody on these shows is all drama drama drama."

"If you listen to some, it is a punishment for past deeds." That he didn't commit.

"Like karma?" Tara said, doubtfully. "I don't think so. Mostly they seem to enjoy it."

"It's attention they enjoy."

One day he could use that insight to date. Would he? No.

"Right," Tara said, not sure she followed Loki's point. "So ... aren't they just getting what they want, being on the show?"

"Oh no, they may be eliminated and the shame would be enough to keep that from being enough. The winner, however..."

"The winners never do anything, do they?" Tara asked. "They just ... end up on other reality shows, if they're really lucky."

"Do they?" Well, now he had to root for someone he hated.

"There was one who married a guy from this old sitcom," Tara nodded seriously. "They met on a show, and then they had their own show about being a couple. And ... why do I know this?"

Wasted brain cells. It was depressing.

"You have watched this far too long?" Loki suggested with a grin. "I could find it on the Wikipedia."

Tara blushed. "And then you'd know as much pointless information as I do," she said. "How have you been, anyhow?"

"I had children visit." A beat. "Too many of them."

Tara wrinkled her nose. "It skipped me this year," she said. "But I got all good kids, before. You, uh .... didn't?"

"One was a horse and another was a wolf." A beat. "And one was an abomination to all gods."

DAMN IT, LYSANDER.

"Metaphorically?" Tara asked. "Though ... I'm really guessing not. Ew."

"It was so cheerful and friendly!"

[life_inshadow]

"And here I .... hope you're talking about the horse, and not the ... abomination thing," Tara said. "Um. I like horses."

"Sleipnir wasn't bad," he admitted. "But the creature."
