There wasn't much time left before graduation, but Gabrielle felt a particular pull to visit home over the weekend anyway. Given how her trips home almost inevitably went?

Yes, that would be why she was in the salle this morning, whaling away on a few practice dummies with her sai. She was getting pretty good with those things, if she did say so herself.

Cara had intended on preparing for Scott's class (unaware it would actually involve something fun today) with a bracing round of agiel on dummy violence.

Of course, she didn't mind getting a show instead. So she'd just lean against the wall and watch a while. You know, instead of being polite and actually greeting Gabrielle or anything.

'Getting a show' sounded kind of -- oh, right, RenPics. Pfft, polite. Silent lurky warrior types were comfortingly familiar anyway.

Not having Xena's freakish ability to hear somebody breathing within fifty feet (or whatever it was), though, it took Gabrielle a few minutes to notice someone else was in the room.

"Hi," she said, once she did, and gestured at the dummies. "Did you want to use some of these?"

"I'd intended to," Cara said, pushing off the wall. "But if you need them all, I also like to watch."

For completely professional reasons. Honest.

"I really don't mind sharing," she insisted. "It's lacking something when I do it by myself, anyway."

Purely talking about practicing. Naturally.

"Not that there's anything wrong with those things," Gabrielle added quickly. "Sometimes you just need more, though."

"Spoken like someone who knows." Gabrielle eyed her speculatively not like that okay maybe. "It can be rough, but it's worth the soreness."

Cara's teeth flashed in a quick and predatory grin at that. "I have some experience there." To put it lightly. "I'm always looking for more."

However Gabrielle wanted to take that.

"More and different kinds of experience?" Gabrielle noted, raising an eyebrow. "That does spice things up."

"It keeps thing from getting boring," Cara said, smirking. "I've never seen those particular weapons before."
