Fifth Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

You know what was a really exciting way to spend a Wednesday night?

Sitting in the common room with a fantastically boring Lifetime movie on, playing chess against yourself.

Also, there were evil bunnies. Wesley was doing his best to ignore them.

Squall frowned at Wesley. "The Powells aren't here at the moment," he observed. "You don't have to pretend to be boring."

That being said, he made no move to change the channel when he sat down to watch the television.

"...pretend?"

Oh, poor Wes.

"And I believe it's the Howells."

Squall shrugged. "Whatever."

And then, because he was trying to be nicer to people, he added, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you weren't pretending. If you're just naturally boring, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not judging."

"Boring--!?" God, Squall. "I'll have you know," Wesley said self-importantly, "that I'm capable of -- of -- a number of interesting pastimes." SO THERE.

"That just means you can amuse yourself," Squall pointed out. "But 'boring' is a measure of how well you can amuse others. I didn't mean it as an insult; I'm boring, too."
