Dorm Roof, Tuesday Evening

Loki was having absolutely none of this week so far. And not merely because it was beneath him, but because it was starting to become annoying.

Only so many showers could be taken before even a god became cross. And sore.

It also didn't help that Googling his issues only exacerbated them. Which would be why he was on his phone, with the parental filter firmly on as he looked for ways to cause this madness to stop. Asking the good people of Yahoo hadn't helped as of yet, but he held out hope.

He kicked his feet over the edge of the rood, searching the internet for what he needed.

After a quickly aborted trip to Caritas (for very complicated reasons), Jessica rethought the whole 'go out and meet people' thing, so she headed up to the place she always (incorrectly) assumed people wouldn't be.

She was somehow surprised when she found a person up here. "Hey, Loki. Hope I'm not interrupting anything." And if she were, it wasn't going to stop her from doing so, because she walked right over to the edge of the roof and had a seat, too, and he would have to deal with it.

LOKI WOULD DO WHAT HE WANTED, JESSICA.

"Oh, hello, Jessica," he replied, frowning at an answer to his question that correctly guessed his virginal status. How did they know?

"Is something up?" she asked after catching the frown. "You're not reading a comments section, are you? That's always a terrible idea."

Loki pressed the phone against his chest, giving her a look. "But there is much amusement there."

Yes. Amusement.

Gert was not having an excellent day. It was about ten thousand degrees in her room, which meant she and Old Lace were getting some fresh air on the roof.

Old Lace, it needed to be said, was not affected by what was bothering Gert, and frankly would have preferred an even warmer climate.

Gert nodded at Loki as she shut the door behind her. "Happy Tuesday."

Her tone did not imply that it was happy.

"I do not know that I would call it 'happy'," Loki replied thoughtfully.

"Oh, wait. I didn't think that one through. You're a troll in the comments, aren't you?" Jessica asked as she looked at the screen. The screen held up against his godly frame. Why did that description pop into her head? Stop it. "You would be a natural great at that kind of thing."

"No, just wishful thinking," Gert griped, fanning herself. "Since when is the East Coast supposed to be a million degrees when it's barely April?"

Because he was a god. It was an apt description.

"I would never do something so base." Yes he would. He really would.

"Perhaps you are ill?" Loki ventured, giving her a speculative look. That ended up focusing on the chest area.

For no reason at all.

"Somebody sounds sarcastic," Jessica pointed out cheerfully. "Come on, Gert, it's a fairly nice night out."

"Don't lie. You would, and it would probably funnier than I'd want to admit," Jessica said.

Maddie still hated this week, and by now just wanted to be outside, where it was cooler, and to not have to deal with people.

It was too bad that she went to the roof, really.

"And here I thought it'd be quiet."

"Do you think so?" Loki asked with a grin. "Truly?"

At this angle, she was rather pretty...

"If you had just said 'sick' instead, I would've been all, 'yeah, sick of this island,'" Gert mused. Boo, lost opportunity for snark.

She and Loki were in the same year, so it wasn't weird that she was suddenly finding him a little attractive, right? Lots of girls went for that whole 'no facial hair, kind of devious and potentially capable of evildoing' thing, didn't they? She knew that from the internet.

"But if I am, it must be going around, 'cause I've seen tons of other people acting weird this week," she added. "Starting with the ridiculous line for the shower this morning."

"It is quiet," Loki assured her helpfully. "Should you ignore the crowd."

"I don't know what you're on; it's a hundred million degrees up here." The temperature just kept going up, apparently. "Which is better than the billion degrees in my dorm room, Celsius, but only barely."

Put him in a pair of leather pants and he was the internet darling.

"It has been... trying." Yes, that was certainly a word for it.

"It's, um, a little hard to ignore the crowd today." Because everyone on this island was attractive and that was stupid.

"You can say that again." Ugh, Fandom, why were you like this. "You're supposed to be a frost... something, right? Can you do anything about the temperature?"

"I said funnier than I want to admit. So I'm not admitting any more about that kind of thing," Jessica said. And then she immediately contradicted herself. "But as long as it was aimed at the right annoying commenters, I'd probably have a good chuckle or two in the name of internet justice."

HE COULDN'T HELP HIS GODLINESS, MADDIE.

"Oh." Loki's eyes widened. "Oh! I thought that women only thought such things in the videos online."

Porn. He was talking about porn.

"Giant. I am half Frost Giant," he replied. Despite his stature. "I think any attempt at altering that would also blanket the east coast in a snow storm."

"And internet justice if the most important of all justice," he replied. "So long as one does not mention Nazis."

"Winter's gone on too long. We could use a nice, minor heatwave," Jessica said. Especially if it helped people dress... Um. She wasn't going to finish that thought. Bad thought.
