Third floor common room- Wednesday night

Sia's plan of staying in her room only lasted as long as it took for her to get hungry, and then she had to venture into the common room to find some kind of food. All she had to do was raid the fridge and leave. How hard could that be?

That was possibly terrible mental phrasing, because when she got to the common room, she found the TV on. And stuck on some kind of movie.... Oh, hey, that was porn. That was definitely porn. And since that was something Sia just did not want to see, she tried to turn it off.

Naturally, the TV was not going to budge from this channel, or turn off, so anyone wandering into the common room was going to see things they probably didn't want to see. Or possibly did want to see. No judgments.

Jessica was on her way to ANYWHERE BUT A PUBLIC AREA when she heard a sound she couldn't help but be curious about. Seriously, was that what she thought it was? It had to be, didn't it?

She peeked her head in.

"I thought we were friends, Sia. But you decide to watch people going at it in a common room and you don't even invite me? I'm scandalized," she decided. She was uncomfortable, yes, but mocking helped.

"This island is the worst," Sia sighed, most definitely not looking at the TV. Or Jessica, just to be safe.

"I'm pretty sure that guy is the worst. He doesn't seem to be considering her fun at all," Jessica said. She wasn't trying to make it worse, it was just kind of happening that way.

"I'm not paying attention, why are you?"

Sia was tempted to look but someone was working on her self-control, okay.

"It's like a train crash. I just can't look away," Jessica said. "And actually, that's a very apt analogy by me. I just don't see how that's comfortable for anyone."

Against all better judgment, Sia glanced over. For a second.

"I hate you."

"You have to admit, 'train crash' is the best possible description," Jessica said.

"You are not helping this situation at all," Sia told her.

"You just have to open yourself to humor, Sia," Jessica said. "Humor and nothing else. And then you'll see that I' the most helpful person in the world."

"Hating you even more for that phrasing."

Though at least Sia had been good about not opening herself up to everything.

"I'm not trying to work blue here. It's just the way my allergies work," Jessica said.

"It is entirely stupid that that's all this is," Sia said, because she was jumping right on the topic that wasn't porn, even if she was trying again to change the channel. "We're being defeated by plants."

It was like The Happening, only with sexy results.

"They were bound to rebel someday. Or several days in a single calendar year. Either one," Jessica pointed out.

"That's the other thing. This is twice now. We should have limits on how much we have to deal with this."

Apparently Sia was getting her frustration out by venting.

"If you want to tell the island's plants that they've been very naughty, go right ahead. I'm just saying, I don't think that's going to end well," Jessica joked.

You were getting a pillow thrown at you, Jessica.

Jessica was catching a pillow. "If that's an invitation to sit down on the couch at a safe distance, then I accept," Jessica said, plopping down with the pillow on the exact other end of the couch.

"If you're going to try and change the channel, have fun with that," Sia said, tossing the remote next to her.

"No, no, I learned my lesson about trying to fix mystically broken TVs a while ago," Jessica said while refusing to catch the remote. "The way these things work, the entire town might turn into some kind of porn."

"I mean, moreso than it has been this week."

"So you're... just going to watch it in the common room?" Sia checked. While still not looking at the TV.

"Mocking something is a time honored reason to watch something terrible in public," Jessica said. "And as long as I keep laughing at it, I don't even feel that much shame."

"Well, if it... makes you feel better," Sia said. "I will not be watching with you, though."

That would be all kinds of weird.

"Okay, okay. If you're going to be so adamant that this is horrible just because it is, I'll see what I can do about fixing it," Jessica got up and walked over to the TV... and tried pulling the plug. It was the easiest way of doing it.

"See what I mean?" Sia said.

"Actually, no, I can't see a thing from this angle," Jessica joked.

Sia frowned. "I will throw something else at you."
