the porch: monday afternoon

Everything seemed to be back to normal. That seemed to be evident on his way back to the house from the main island. There didn't seem to be any fast moving carriages or wailing teenagers with newspapers or smokey clubs full of good looking guys and girls.

Guess that meant he didn't have to worry about anyone trying to start fights with him or have to look over his shoulder for about a dozen stab wounds from girls wearing dresses that looked unwieldy. So, Nathan was going to sit outside on the porch to try and get away from the constantly cold room and the new, crying sounds that he'd heard when he'd stopped in.

He'd just grabbed his sketchbook and a copy of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich that he'd managed to find in the bookstore. He couldn't read the book but that didn't even matter. It was still his favorite book nonetheless. But, he wasn't paging through the book right now. He was actually drawing a sketch of last night's club scene. Despite the strangeness and unfamiliarity of it all, it had been pretty beautiful and he wanted to try and capture that.
