The roof- Wednesday morning

Sabine woke up looking pretty much like an older version of her little brother that she hadn't seen in over a year, so that was a thing.

She also woke up not able to fit into her clothes, and the armor was just out of the question. Luckily she remembered the existence of the clothing tree that I totally had to look up on the roof. So she was going to go up there in her sleep clothes and raid that sucker so she could go to class like a normal, uncomfortable person.

It was almost comforting that her hair at least was a dead giveaway as to who she was.

Trevor had continued to hide out for the most part, but if you thought he wouldn't show up to catch this, you'd be wrong.

"Should I call you handsome?" he asked. Because, yeah. That hair was a giveaway. "Wait, is that tree covered in clothing?"

WHY DIDN'T HE KNOW ABOUT THIS?

"It would be weird if you did," Sabine said. "And I don't know. It's a clothing tree, I guess. I spotted it one time and luckily I remembered an OOC post from like 2015."

[crack_that_whip]

THE DARK AGES.

"Huh." He was just going to steal clothing from it now. "So, you think this is just how things are going to be?"

"No," she said, yanking down a shirt. "But I think the island does want us annoyed."

It was working!

"And the jello wasn't enough?" Because that had been enough for him.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Or whatever that other weird weekend was?" Sabine added.

[crack_that_whip]

"It's best if we pretend it never happened." That's what he was doing.

"That's why I was vague," Sabine said. "I'll be happy once this place gets it all out of its system."

Please let that happen, she was so tired.

Mae made her way up onto the roof, looking grumpy.

"Hi . . . person," she greeted. "Mind if I mope near you?"

"I'm going to go find drinks until that happens." She was welcome to join him.

"Mae," Trevor greeted her, still shamelessly taking clothing from the clothing tree. He was totally set for the winter now!

"That could mean drinking for a long time." That wasn't a no.

She looked like Tristan.

"It's Sabine," she said with a sigh. "Mope away, it's the day for it."

"And?" Trevor saw no problem with that plan, Sabine. None at all.

"Girl-type person." Mae had not been paying enough attention to -- basically anything but her pillow for most of the week so far, no. "Why are you taking someone's laundry out of the tree?"

"You got hit too, huh?" Mae asked. "How weird is this?!"

Much in the way that Mae didn't really grasp how or why she looked like a cat to everyone else on the island, she had no idea that her currently rearranged body looked exactly like it otherwise always did.

"Just pointing that out," she said.

"Then it's a plan." Drinking until this ended wasn't a plan, Trevor. "You and me."

Sabine paused for a long moment.

"Incredibly weird," she said, deciding not to ask any of the questions that immediately jumped to mind?m, because it really wasn't any of her business. "There's clithes, if you need."

"Sure it is."

To be fair, she figured he'd forget about it.

"Trevor," he corrected with a huff of annoyance. "Apparently it grows on this tree. I'm not questioning free clothing."

Buried the lead on being her roommate, huh?

Trevor shot her a look, but when along with it. "What other weird shit is up on this roof?" If they missed the clothing tree for the past four years...

"Thanks," Mae said. "I'm good. I dress kinda unisex anyway." She tilted her head. "It's funny how your face is all different, but your hair's still all bright."

"Ohhhhhh." She looked up at the tree. "Does it do special requests?"

He frowned up at the try. "I haven't tried that."

It'd be super cool if it did.
