Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening
The trip had been exciting, but Kiem found he didn't mind being back either, and he didn't mind classes starting again, which, he realised, wasn't what he had expected when arriving in Fandom. He had never liked classes, mostly because he wasn't really good at anything he was expected to learn, and while he might not be good at what he was taught here, no one seemed to mind much.
Except that scary teacher that had replaced Summer. He missed Summer. Which was unexpected too, because he didn't usually miss teachers.
Thinking about all this was, he felt, an acceptable excuse for the taste of the soup he managed to make from all sorts of leftovers in the fridge.

So he quirked his chin up in greeting to the guy already in there on his way over to the fridge, but then stopped when he realized the guy was currently making something.
"....is that soup?" he ventured a guess.

Kiem looked from the pot to Troy and back again.
"Not a very good soup though. But you are welcome to have some of it if you want."
no subject
Troy also looked from the pot to Kiem and then back again.
"Yeaaaaah," he said slowly, already starting to pull his phone out of his pocket, "I was actually kind of thinking of ordering some pizza?"
Which was probably a step up from something someone thought was soup...

He looked at the pot again.
"Do you mind if I order some with you?"

Kiem was new to pizza.
"And pepperoni."

"Go big or go home, I guess," Troy commented with lifted eyebrows, and a shake of his head that seemed almost a little impressed as he finally dialed up the pizza place and put in an order for a pizza with all of...that, and then a meat lovers', which meant that Troy really had no room to judge, it was just his took less time to actually order.
"And, uhhh, I don't know," he added, giving Kiem a sort of shrug, "one wiht just veggies? There's probably people who'd want that around here. Yeah. Uh-huh. Sure. Okay. Yeah, that's right, Troy. Troy Barnes. B-A-R-N--yes, I'm going to pay for it, why would I--? Whatever, fine, just text me when it's at the dorms."
With that, he ended the call with an irritated press of his thumb and complained, "I swear, you dine and dash at one sushi restaurant around here once, and nobody ever forgets it."

But that was all taken care of, so now Terra was in search of- well, she didn't know what, exactly. Something to do that wasn't in her room.
"Kiem!" she greeted. "It's safe to come back to the room, now." Not that it had exactly been unsafe before, really, but she'd been bustling about the room a lot, fussing over the plants, and talking to them, and so she could see why her roommate might have decided to be elsewhere for a bit.

He assumed his roommate wanted food after fussing over the plants.

There was a small pause.
"Still totally worth it," he concluded.

"As long as they let you order pizza, because we really shouldn't be stuck with the soup."
no subject
He gestured towards the pot, in case Terra wanted to find out for herself.
no subject
"I think you're right," she agreed. "Pizza may be the wisest course of action, here."

They seemed to, but he didn't know much about plants.
no subject
Not him.
....probably.
...damn, now he was kind of curious?
It was like the s'mores-gasboard taught him nothing!

The magic had been a bit of a last resort, but a couple of the more fragile plants had definitely required a little perking up.

"Hey, by the way, you do radio, don't you?"
no subject
"That's good," he said. "Oh, by the way, do you like animals?"
No reason.

"That's right!" he said, shoulders squared, chin lifted, and a grin that he couldn't control even if he tried. "Every Friday morning! I'm the Troy in," and, of course, the next part had to be sung jauntily, "🎵 ~Troy and Astrid in the moooorn-ning!~ 🎵!
"Are you a fan?"

Should he get some plants involved in his room? It could add a nice pop of life to the mess of blanket and pillow forts that was his room right now.
no subject
"Of course!" he said. "How did you end up doing it? Did the squirrels recruit you?"
no subject
Blame this on having looked after Colonel Bahamutt and then stopping by Furnado to talk to Sakaki.

"Which scary mean teacher?" he then asked, trying to think of which one would fit that description, but he barely paid attention in half his classes, much less to the teachers teaching them. That poetry teacher he had was pretty bad, but that was robably because, you know...poetry.
