Quinn bursts out of room 219 and runs to the first person she sees.

"Hi," she says. "I'm Quinn. I have a date tonight with... I don't actually remember his name. He's a musician. He plays the guitar or something. He was playing outside yesterday, maybe you saw him? Bad shoes? Anyway, I have to postpone and I don't know where he's rooming and he can't come to me because I can't let him see me like this, so I'm wondering if you could find Musician Boy and give him this note. Thanks, bye!"

Quinn runs off again before anyone else can see her in non-date clothes, leaving the poor assaultee with the note.

River blinks twice, momentarily taken aback, then reads the note. Musician boy?

Charlie's about at the end of his rope. "I'm looking for a girl named Quinn?" he says without much hope, knocking on yet another door.

"You must be Musician Boy," comments the dark-haired girl who opens the door. "She gave me this to give to you, but, well, she didn't tell me who you were or where."

She hands you a note of pink stationary.

"So, just for future reference... what is your name?"

"That's me. She never quite got around to asking my name.

"I'm Charlie. What's your name?"

The pink stationary makes him grin.

"I'm River. Pleased to make your acquaintance." She considers him for a moment, with a faint smile gracing her features. "Where are you living, anyways?"

He points upward. "Third floor. 307. Drop by any time." He grins even more. "I'll play you my guitar."

"I'd like that." She smiles, then gets an intent look on her face for a brief moment. "You ... might want to head out, for now. I think someone is coming to see me, and they're not entirely rational (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/30878.html) right now."

"He's very yelly.

"If you'll be okay . . ." He looks doubtful, but heads towards the elevators. "Nice to meet you, River."

"Yes." She sees the doubting expression on his face, and does her best to reassure him. "Don't worry. I can handle it."

He nods, still looking doubtful, then says, "307. If you. You know. Want somebody around."
