South Attic - Waiting for Cam

Beka looks flustered. Delighted with the prospect of spending time in town with Cam, since no one else has been able to get him out, but nervous too, because she's got no idea whether it's a date or he's just bored.

She's also embarked on so many campaigns to engage him -- jealousy by hanging out with Lee, the whole girls club thing, Parker's scheme, flirting with Jackson, and playing it cool with Cam -- that she doesn't know how to behave when he shows up.

She ducks into the bathroom to take a quick shower, then realizes she doesn't know when Cam will come by. Quickly flips over James's note, writes neatly on the back:

Cam -

Door's open. I may be a few minutes getting ready.

Please come in. Please? Stupid radio broadcast has the entire High School watching us. It'd be better if you didn't linger in the hall.

*cont'd* Beka head for the bathroom to take a quick shower. Borrows some of her ~~mun's~~ roommate's very alluring body oil. And thinks about her flyboy. She really wishes she knew whether she was his girlfriend or what he thought of her...

[OOC: While she's in the shower, she's not doing anything badwrong no matter WHO her mun is. ;)]

Cameron arrives and notices the note. After reading it, he pulls it off the door and puts it in his pocket. He knocks on the door anyway to make sure and after a little while sticks his head in. Realising no one is there, he slips inside and closes the door behind him.

"Beka?" He looks around nervously as he's never been here before and it feels very much like trespassing as he can't see her anywhere.

[OOC: OMG, too funny that you took the note. That will cause chaos. Magik's gonna want it back. *g*]

Out of the shower, but not nearly finished getting ready, Beka tries not to panic. She thanks every deity she's ever heard of that at least she brought her clothes into the bathroom with her.

She pokes her head, hair still quite obviously damp from showering, out of the bathroom. "Hey, Cam." Her eyes meet his for a flash of a second and she smiles like the sun gone super-nova. She's really glad to see him, but drops the eye contact almost instantly, not wanting him to know just how glad. "I'm just finishing up. Sit down. Bed with all the books and commpads littered about is mine. There's nothing that can't be moved to make room for you to sit." She prays he won't notice any of the doodling she's done on her books.

"Be out in a few."

Cameron stares at her, realising that quite possibly she's naked behind the door and there's no one else around. "Okay," he stammers, flushing brightly and quickly turning around and heading for the bed. He carefully pushes some of the notes around and awkwardly sits down on the corner of the bed, trying very hard not to think of what Beka is doing in the bathroom ~~and bunny ears~~.

Realizing Cam probably thinks she's naked and might be freaking out, Beka quickly steps out of the bathroom, wearing jeans and a t-shirt that she's borrowed from one of dirt-side girls. Her hair's still damp and she hasn't put on any make-up yet. She knows she probably looks about as innocent as a baby fluffball, but she can't help thinking maybe Cam will feel better if he doesn't always see her as a hot Alpha-fem.

"Hey." She can't help smiling at how innocent he looks. ~~Even though by now she's so wishing she could just kiss him.~~

"Hey," he smiles back at her, sounding relieved and visually relaxing. He takes in the sight of her, it's quite different than what he's used to and while he sort of misses the hot outfit, he really likes it. "You look great."

Beka is absurdly pleased by the compliment and blushes. "Thanks." There are so many things she wants to say to him, she can't even think where to start. "You really think so?" For some reason Beka can't understand, she needs to hear it again.

[OMG. She is a ball of angst and tension. Poor baby.]

"I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it." Cam smiles at her and then seems to realise she might take this wrong. "Not that I don't think you look great otherwise, itsjustacompletelynewlookforyouandIlikeit."

((Awww. *pats her*))

Completely undone by the fact that he actually pays attention to such things, Beka blushes, then manages to stammer out: "Youlookprettydamnedgoodyourself,flyboy. Let's go get that coffee. I need it before class." ~~If I have to sit there and pay attention instead of mooning over you like a completely lovesick fool.~~ Realizing he might take that wrong she adds a little more softly, "And I owe you a cup."

((*laughs*))

Cameron got up and looked confused at her. "You do?"

Cocks her head and smiles adoringly. "Yeah. I said I'd bring you one for class. Remember?" Wishes she could ~~kiss~~ ~~touch~~ hug him. She missed him so much that having him here now is making her ache.

"Oh! Right!" He smiles back at her and motions for the door. "Shall we go then?"

~~Thinks she looks utterly adorable like this and probably wouldn't mind a hug.~~

"Gonna get the door for me, flyboy?" She smiles, and waits to see.

~~Thinks he's so hot and sweet when he's taking care of her.~~

He chuckles and moves to the door, opening it for her. "Yups."

She walks to the door, less stalking and more relaxed than usual. He smells good and feels warm, even from a few feet away, and she's drawn to walk close enough to him to touch. Reaching out, she catches one side of his jacket in her hand and sort of tugs on it. Then stands there smiling. "Thanks, Cam."

Swallows and realises that bunny ears are a threat even when she's dressed nicely. "Sure."

Wishes she didn't scare him so much. Wonders if holding hands is even a possibility ~~and whether if it is she'll be the laughing-stock of the entire school~~. Decides to keep walking. "C'mon. Can I ask you something?"~~~~

Cameron falls into step beside her. "Sure, shoot."

There are so many "somethings" she wants to ask him, she hardly knows where to start or which one to focus on. She sighs. "This is harder than I thought it would be." But she looks at him, all concern and nerves, and she knows she has to. "Are you sorry we...spent the night together?" Her face gets hot and she hates it, hates that everything that's always been easy is suddenly hard and complicated. But it's Cam. And that makes it worth it.

"What?" Cam stares at her. "No! Why would you think that?"

She smiles, a lot, at his reaction. Considers what would be useful to say. "Because I never want to take anything about you...this, whatever it is...for granted. That's all."

((OOC: Beka is surveilling Ilyana and Sawyer's dinner-date on another thread, in her deadly black leather. Cam doesn't like Callisto, but could he be talked into -- on another thread -- accompanying deadly-Beka to watch over a friend? They're at the really nice restaurant in town. We don't have to play it out. He can NPC if you like, and nothing will happen except Cam being there guarding Beka's back. And her smiling at him a lot. *laughs*))

He grins at that and reaches out, touching the back of her hand. "That's good to know."

((Err, she probably could. Do you mind doing the NPC, though? I'm having hell keeping up with fandomhigh today and I'm only talking to you and Crichton at the moment.))

Cam. Touching her. She can't think. And blushes furiously.

After a speechless few seconds, she ducks her head and stutters out. "Sowherearewegoingforcoffee?"

((No problem with the NPC. I'll bring him back unharmed, and regrettably unkissed. *laughs*))

Cam grins, strangely satisfied that for once he's not the one doing the stuttering. "Where did you get the coffee yesterday?"
