Flying Free
[Saturday Evening, just on twilight]
Harry doesn't know what the rules are about broomsticks and flying. He thinks he should probably check the rules again. Then again, what kinds of prohibitions could there be as long as he's not dropping things on other students?
The restlessness in him is like a nagging ache. Studies all week, no Quidditch, and neither Ron nor Hermione around to hang out with. He didn't realise how integral his friends had become to him in those six years at Hogwarts and he misses them. So he takes his broom from his luggage and heads outside to the courtyard, ignoring the other students.
He kicks off, and suddenly the world is below him, his glasses are pushed back up his nose by the force of the wind and his knuckles are freezing.
And he loves it.

*makes note to have talk to the other student about the rudeness of shooting at someone 'just for fun'*

He figured he'd get inundated with questions later, anyway.

Soon he felt himself get lighter and opened his eyes to see the small sparklings of fairy dust floating around him. With an even brighter grin he kicked through the air and flew up to join Harry.
