With a deep frown of concentration, Jake was walking down the hall, scribbling madly in his notebook. He was on page eight now of his epic Ode to Coffee and he was hoping to finish it in time for tonights open mic night at the Perkolator.

He stopped walking in order to write down a particularly awesome turn of phrase. "...black as the sky at midnight with only a few stars of white to light it up..."

"...No, no, that doesn't work," Jake mumbled to himself. ...Someone was watching him. He looked up, ready scowl at the watcher. A big white ball was sitting expectantly infront of him. Jake blinked and furiously tried to remember if he'd broken any school rules. He didn't think he had.

"Um. Hello?" he tried, clutching his notebook firmly so in case Rover decided to bounce him he'd hopefully still have his epic.

Jake eyed Rover. This was strange behavior. Then he blinked. "You want me to follow you? I haven't done anything wrong and if I did it was totally the professor's fault!" Jake knew there were more than one professor at the school, but the only one who'd earned the title yet was Spider Jerusalem by being an utter bastard.

Sighing deeply, Jake stuffed his notebook and pen into his jacket pocket, and shuffled after the big white ball of terror.

Following Rover through in to the office, Jake paused. "What the..?" he said, staring blankly at the sight of the bouncing security officer. Maybe it was the lack of coffee that did it. Jake had always thought people who didn't drink coffee was a little weird, and being a big white ball, Rover probably couldn't even drink-- oh that was horrible!

Jake was overwhelmed with pity.

There was no more bouncing, and there was an expectant air to Rover. Jake inched closer, slowly, until he could read the paper.

"I don't know nothing," he said automatically.

"I may have heard rumours," Jake allowed, after a while of aggressive waiting on Rover's behalf.

"I don't know a lot," Jake said, eyeing the door. He liked information. Information was fun. As was the nifty gadget Jerusalem had given him. "I got this thing from the professor, that tells me what people are, you know?" He waited for a moment, then shrugged. "Anyway, I've been playing with it, and, um, I think there's at least two werewolves here."

"Um. Can I go now?" Jake asked, eyeing the door again. "I've been helpful, right?"

"Was that a yes?" Jake asked, inching towards the door. He paused suddenly and gave Rover a big grin. "Dude! Marshmalllows! I haven't written about itty bitty marshmallows in coffee yet! That's brilliant! You're a genius!"
