Second floor common room

Rogue wanders into the second floor common room, carrying a notebook, a pen, a copy of the Weekly Tentacle, and a large cup of iced tea. She starts scribbling notes in the margin of the paper, obviously attempting to get the extra credit Prof. Jerusalem promised to anyone who got an article in the paper. "Mindraped? If that was mindrape, what do you call what happens to me every time I fucking touch someone?" she mutters angrily. "Stupid newspaper doesn't know what the hell it's talking about. Since he or she is so oblivious to what's happening, this shouldn't be too hard."

While she is busy, it's obvious that Rogue wouldn't mind some company or a distraction. Otherwise, she could have studied just fine in her own room.

Rogue looks up. "Hey, Shel." She blushes a little. "What have you been up to?"

Rogue turns back to Cally. "Wow, that's so cool. I'll vote for you." She grins. "I don't think I could run for that; I'm not really a political person."

*grins* Avoiding detention. Just a few wacko dreams the last two nights. Nothing I can't live with.

It's not that political, is it? I just thought it'd be fun, and I'd get to meet some new people, and let other people get to know me...

Rogue shrugs, fiddling with her pencil. "Actually, somewhat similar. I had a run-in with our whacky psych professor, and well, I've been having nightmares since." She frowns. "But, on the bright side, I think that she's going to be able to help me soon." Her voice is noticably brighter, and she smiles.

"Well, I don't know how it is here, but my older sister's best friend ran when I was a freshman, at my old school in Mississippi. Stuff got a little ugly, but then again, all those girls were real bitches." She smiles at Cally. "I don't think you have that problem."

Well, I'm glad to hear that. ::smiles, and plops down onto one of the couches::

I dunno... I was just going to sketch up a poster, but if this gets serious to some people, maybe I should try to get something bigger organized.

Not that I'm in this to win, or anything.

Rogue ponders for a minute. "I wish I could remember what Allyson did. She didn't end up winning, but she came real close. I know she made buttons and handed them out, and cookies and such." She grins. "People love food."

Rogue looks shocked, but happy. "No, I don't have a date to homecoming." She smiles, feeling a little coy. "Any particular reason you're askin'?"

Well, I definitely won't be making toast for everyone, but cookies sound like a good idea. I can probably get Elizabeth and Janet to help out too.

::smiles, and realizes she's been a bit selfish in the conversation::

Rogue's smile is huge, and her voice reflects it. "Of course I will!" she nearly shouts. "Er, I mean, I thought you'd never ask." She giggles, like, well, like a highschool girl.

"Just some stuff for Professor Jeruselem." She waves her hand over the Weekly Tentacle. "If we get an article or a juicy bit of gossip in this paper, we get extra credit." Rogue rolls her eyes. "It's the most ridiculous trash ever, but the Professor claims it's journalism, so we have to study it or something."

She shrugs. "It could be worse. He could have asked us to tackle the real tentacle monster, and while I'm pretty sure Drusilla wouldn't let it hurt a student, that'd just freak me out. I just can't seem to think of anything that would be worthy of publication, you know?"

Great. Great. *is all twitchy and excited now* We've got time to work out the details.

And oh, yeah. I'll apologize in advance for whatever I wear. I think I'll get McGuyver to help me with that. I don't trust Jayne's taste. You know.. in case you want to wear a matching catsuit dress.

Well, I guess there's all the drama about the dance, already. I can't believe how fast people are getting dates... I mean, it was only announced yesterday and half the people I know seem to already be going with the other half. ::sighs. And I still don't know if Anders actually asked me::

Other than that, I can't think of any real news-worthy gossip. Homecoming seems to have pretty much taked over everything.

"Yeah, we have some time." She giggles, "Well, the theme is 80s, and I have a strange feeling that Mac might be able to help in that department."

"Well, I guess people are just worried they won't get to go with the person they really want if they wait too long." She cocks her head to the side. "I take it you don't have a date yet?

"Yeah, I really think it has. The school's in homecoming mode. It's really kind of a normal thing in highschool. And besides, it's something fun and normal here," she adds. "With all the craziness around, we need that."

Nope, no date here. That's half why I'm running for Queen... that way, if I win, I'll atleast get to dance with somebody. ::sad laugh::

"Eh, it's extra credit. It's just something to do to avoid studying for my language classes." She shakes her head, "I'm doin' awful in languages. Polish and French I have down, but Hebrew? Blech."

She shuffles some papers around, clearly trying to get up the nerve to say something. "Um, about that date? I mean, do you still want to go? Coffee or something?"
