common room
Roy sits at a table in the commonroom, stationary and paper splayed out in a mess, tapping his pen on the wood surface. He is trying to brainstorm ideas for the upcoming school election, for which he will be running for Security Officer. The top of the page in front of him reads "Security Officer: Campaign Ideas", underlined; below it is a short list of scribbled out and then crossed off items.
Tap, tap, tap.
Tap, tap, tap tap tap.
Tap tap.
The noise of the pen against the table is constant in occurence but irregular in pattern. Pretty annoying for anyone else around, but supposedly it helps him think.
Supposedly. At the moment, he's completely stuck on how to do this whole student body election "thing."

"Nah. Already checked with the man with the flowing beard. Apparently the only weapon you get is the 'title'. I'm hoping that 'title' is made out something bullet proof and I can wear it."

"I'll remember that if we ever have to debate."
He holds up his hands in non-threatening manner.
"Kidding. Unless of course you were talking about running into the fray then you have my respect."

"I guess I better start running laps then. Then again, the only thing I've seen outrun Rover so far was Jay and Silent Bob."

"In all honesty though, I doubt they'd expect us to chase people. If they expected us to engage in any kind of combat with a potentially life-threatening person, they'd allow us to carry weapons. There's no point in running someone down if they're going to turn around and shoot you as soon as you catch them.
I imagine it'll be more organizational-- keeping students appraised of security changes and announcements, taking security complaints back to the faculty, maybe having a hand in the information network Professor Jerusalem's set up. That or investigating security issues from within the student body, interviewing people and so forth to find the culprit."
