Kawalsky was quiet as he left the 239/240 suite. Everyone else, he assumed, was sleeping soundly. Jack was snoring, but that was no indication of whether he was actually asleep or just doing it to piss everyone else off. With or without the snoring, Kawalsky simply couldn't sleep. He'd doze off and then be awake, looking at the sharp red dial of the digital clock across the room from him. It would always read around 3 hours after he'd drifted off.

Rather than fidgeting until one of the girls told him to shut the hell up, Charlie grabbed his iPea thing and headed for the common room. Considering that not all of the mp3s on his iPea were legally obtained, he wondered if that made him a pirate and, if he was a pirate, would he be entitled to a really cool hat like Barbossa's?

Kawalsky dropped down onto the couch and flicked through the TV's channels. Discovery Channel was playing the elephant porn again. He'd seen enough elephant porn in the past few days to kill.. well, an elephant. The Game Show Channel was showing yet another old show that he didn't understand the purpose of. He would have stayed watching it, but it was late (or early) and no one would appreciate him yelling at the TV in an attempt to coax the contestant into doing the smart thing, even though the show was filmed 30 years ago. It made him feel better. The other option was mocking the show, but no one was around and it was a little too geeky for him to mock to himself. That, and he just didn't appreciate his own sense of humor.

He even checked out ESPN2, now that Duo had done a great job of getting the channel in time for the hockey season. But they were playing basketball, and as much as he liked playing, watching was boring.

Charlie curled up on the couch with his headphones in and listened to music while he flicked over to some random channel with science fiction on it. At least there was a good chance he'd see hot women in nearly no clothes. Sure enough, there was some chick in a tight red suit. This would do. He didn't need to listen in. It was all about the eye candy.

The eye candy got boring when some guy with shaggy hair came on screen and tried to hit on every female on the screen. Charlie shuddered and switched over to Showtime. There was always something interesting there. Or, at least, there used to be. Maybe they'd done something stupid like letting go of all of their good material.

Whatever. As long as there were moving images and he had his music, he was fine. The sun would be up soon and then he'd head into town to get breakfast.
