Hello there, prospective do-gooders! I am Professor Tick, and my side needs kicking! Err, that is, I need a sidekick. I could always use a hand grading things and running my class, but that's what a TA is for. You'll be helping me with that and assisting me in my other work.

You'll be expected to help me on my patrols [OOC: Patrols are assumed to happen at all hours of the day. If Tick's not around, he's patrolling, coincidentally being in exactly the places where stuff isn't happening. Sidekick is not expected to join him on these patrols, but it would be nice if they scheduled his routes or something. Not that he'd follow that. He goes where Justice leads him.]. You'll get a snazzy costume courtesy of Professor Beeblebrox's class. You'll get a spiffy super name! And you may even get some extra perks if SCIENCE. WILL. JUST. WORK. WITH ME!!!

Anyway, the tryouts will consist of five tests. At the end of the day, a new sidekick will be chosen! Keen!

OOC: Apparently so! And anyway, I think the fact that you're so damn great at playing the Tick is a large reason why the thread is a rollicking success. You're getting some great normal types and the people who're doing it just for kicks are coming up with some totally nutty stuff.

You should have seen the Tests last night when I was writing them up. It was even more insane, but SO complicated. I trimmed it down to a more streamlined insanity (all of which does make sense from a certain point of view) that others can run with.

And, really, I prefer that so many people are doing it for kicks. There are currently only 4 serious contenders and I think it's pretty clear who the winner is among them so far, making life MUCH easier on me. :)
