Sidekick Tryouts, just outside the dorms

Hello there, prospective do-gooders! I am Professor Tick, and my side needs kicking! Err, that is, I need a sidekick. I could always use a hand grading things and running my class, but that's what a TA is for. You'll be helping me with that and assisting me in my other work.

You'll be expected to help me on my patrols [OOC: Patrols are assumed to happen at all hours of the day. If Tick's not around, he's patrolling, coincidentally being in exactly the places where stuff isn't happening. Sidekick is not expected to join him on these patrols, but it would be nice if they scheduled his routes or something. Not that he'd follow that. He goes where Justice leads him.]. You'll get a snazzy costume courtesy of Professor Beeblebrox's class. You'll get a spiffy super name! And you may even get some extra perks if SCIENCE. WILL. JUST. WORK. WITH ME!!!

Anyway, the tryouts will consist of five tests. At the end of the day, a new sidekick will be chosen! Keen!

Good luck to everyone!

Test 1:

Answer the following:

Name:
Super-Name (Not necessary: my sidekick back in The City is named Arthur!):
Special Powers/Abilities (if any):
Battle Cry:
Are You Dedicated to Justice?:

Are you trying to blame him to save your own neck? Besides, even if it was Daniel's idea, you participated enthusiastically.

Took you long enough to realize, didn't you?

Well, you'd better figure out how to respond to it one of these days before I decide to make you suffer out of subtext. Just so you know.

(OOC: Cool. Because snarking at Methos and Duncan can only go so far.)

I never said that I didn't, just that Danny started it.

Shut up.

That is just uncalled for.

[OOC: Yeah, I imagine you can only go so far before you run into that "I'm not supossed to know this" area.]

I'm just saying that even if he started it, you share some of the blame.

And here I thought it was fair warning. *wink*

(OOC: True. Spent some time looking at paperwork very intently and not listening to the Immortal issues discussion.

And, ah, did I just wander into areas in this conversation that perhaps I shouldn't have wandered into with Janet? Because I have no idea what you're up for as regards our characters' interactions. So let me know what I should or shouldn't hold back on.)

Fair enough.

So mean.

[OOC: See, that's what screws me up here, sometimes I don't remember until the last minute that I'm not suppossed to know whatever I just typed. It blows.

And no, you didn't wander into anything bad I just... didn't get the right tone of voice. I was trying to do that whole...thing. Kinda like Michell's from Full House's "How rude!" but it is incredibly hard to get across without any vocal range. It's hard to tell whether I'm getting it across right because in my head I know how I want it to sound.

Sorry about that. :)]

OOC: I'm about at the point as a player where I want to say, "Fuck it all with all the subtext, damn it. It's a smutty, slashy, ooc as all hell game and we're damn well having fun with it, so who cares what's subtext and what's text?"

Unfortunately, I think this might tick off some people.

Personally? Take whatever the hell you want from subtext as text for Janet. I don't care. Because, good God, if I could write vamp!porn between Dru and Angelus in this game, why the *hell* would I have a problem with Janet and Jack getting it on, given the magnitude of the chemistry between them on the series anyway?

Er, actually, I have written Jack/Janet/Sam, I just need to damn well finish the thing so I can post it on my RL LJ.

Anyway, no big deal. It's why I asked. Now that I know what you're doing, I'll how to interpret what you're saying.

[OOC: Jack's a big ol' slut anyway, and kinda frustrated right now cause he's trying to be all noble with Beka. Until they screw he's trying to be good for her. Stupid idiot.

After they screw though they're both good for anyone. Jack-mun and Beka-mun already figured this out.

Yeah, Jack's up for anything and so is his mun.

Also? Mun is going swimming for a little bit and will be back in about an hour or so. Hopefully you'll be here but if not then: Goodnight!]

OOC: Well, Janet *would* be if she could just actually get a guy to sleep with her. Which she can't, because Daniel's a noble idiot. And Jack's being very Jack about the whole thing. She's half-tempted to drag Sheppard off into bed for some tension release.

Heh. I already talked to Beka-mun. I have this big thing where I don't like to intrude so I keep checking to make sure I'm not. And so glad to know that everyone is basically up for everything. (Except I don't know about Danny-mun just yet. Damn.(

Have fun swimming! I'm about to go to sleep, unfortunately, but more roleplay tomorrow?

[OOC: All the guys here are idiots. It's so realistic isn't it? Shane-Mun actually called Jack-Mun a guy somewhere, it was way cool. Apparently I'm good at this idiot stuff!

I'm sorry that Danny-Mun is off so much, RL sucks hardcore. Everyone and their Mun is pretty easy in the Refugee Camp ain't they?

On for an hour now, then off for and hour to bus home (So stole the college comps) and then back on again.]

OOC: Oh, Gods, so realistic. But it leads the women to all eyeing each other instead as the guys are bound and determined to frustrate them more.

RL is a very frustrating, annoying thing sometimes. Like, say, when I'm at work. And when it interferes with other people roleplaying with me. I deeply adore the Refugee Camp group and how incredibly easy we all are. So much more fun that way. Less 'shippy angst.

Poor Liz's mun is busy moving back across the pond right now, so she hasn't been available.

Leaving work in half an hour, then back online again sometime between 7-8 CST. Before Lost. *bites nails*
