Room 239/240: Recovery

Janet is sitting on the floor, medical supplies from her kit spread out around her. She is counting everything, and scribbling a list of supplies she needs to replenish on a sheet of paper sitting on a clipboard next to her.

*Daniel wanders over to the dorms after getting Janet's phonecall. Once he reaches Janet's door, he knocks and waits for someone to answer*

Sorry about the mess. We had a lot of hit and run trauma, what with the zombie attacks this weekend. I've got to reorganize everything and reorder supplies. *notices the box and smiles shyly* So, ah, how was your trip?

::shrugs:: It depends. They either throb horribly, or I don't really feel them at all. I think I might be pretty useless with 'em for a while.

Thankfully, Kara helped my get cleaned up this morning. I just hope I don't need that much help for very long...

Yeah, it's okay. I'm sorry I missed it. *grins, noticing her noticing the box* It was good. Not as eventful as the attacks, but still very rewarding.

You're sorry you missed the zombie attacks? *raises an eyebrow and looks at Daniel amusedly and disbelievingly* Why on Earth would you have been sorry to have missed the shambling, rotting corpses of the brain-eating walking dead?

I'm glad to hear the trip was rewarding, though. What were you researching? Did you find anything interesting?

Eh, now that you put it that way, I'm not so sorry I missed the attacks as much as helping out in taking out the zombies themselves. *smirks*

Some farmers in Texas apparently found something interesting and eventually someone asked me to come down. I think I might have found some evidence for aliens existing *grins* Well, non-classified evidence at least.

That's fairly normal for burns. Numb all the time would be bad. It would mean that the nerves weren't regenerating. Your skin's going to be fairly sensitive for a while, though.

Can you take a voice-activated tape recorder to your classes so you don't have to take notes? I'm sure people will be able to help you write out your homework.

*chuckles* Even though I didn't know Charlie that well, I'm sure it must have been bordering on fun.

They thought it was a piece of a temple that was buried and built on top of, but when I looked at it, I noticed it had some strange markings that was not from any dialect I've studied. I believe it's a metal alloy we've never seen before. And I took it back with me to be tested in the science lab to make sure. I'm not letting the government get their hands on it this time.

To an adrenaline junkie, I'm sure it must have had its moments. Of course, I'm fairly sure you don't stay at the SGC in Colorado unless you have at least a bit of adrenaline junkie in you.

Sounds fascinating. I don't know if I could help at all, but please let me know if there's anything I can do. At the very least I can try to do some research for you during one of my library shifts.

Yeah, not an adrenaline junkie at all. I'm more of the anti-adrenaline junkie. I look at artifacts and read.

I might be able to do with some help researching. Otherwise, I think I have this mostly covered. In the meantime, I brought you something back *grins, handing over the box*

Knowing Janet won't answer that unless she's sure Beka is OK, Beka fends her off with an arched eyebrow. "I'm fine. Nothing worse than a few scratches and muscle aches."

I'll be fine once I've had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. *wry grin* I have things to do before I rest, though. *gestures to floor and spread out medical supplies* Such as take inventory and order new stock. Besides, I'd kill for a backrub right now and you're definitely under doctor's orders not to help out in that regard.

I should probably take a break and eat, though. Want something?

Sure! But finger food is a bit of a no-go right now, sadly. I'm afraid I might be needing to take everything through a straw for a while... Just like the time when I had my jaw wired shut.... ::shudder::

I'll take burnt hands over massive oral surgery any day.

*looks amused, but not like she believes Daniel* I know what you used to do for a living, Daniel, and it wasn't just "look at artifacts and read." Still, I'm excited for you. I can't wait to find out more.

Janet nods. Everyone's scratched and sore. "Great," she says. "So, how's it going?"
