East Attic: Locked to the Girls (all of them)

I know that a lot of y'all don't know what Homecomin' is, and next to no one has dresses. Well, when I was in highschool back in Meridian, none of our families had enough money to go around buyin' a new dress for every daughter for every dance, but it was a major faux pas if a girl wore the same dress to more than one dance. So, seein' that we were all so close, before every dance, we'd have a dress swap. Girls brought all their old dresses, all their sisters', cousins', mom's, and aunt's old dresses, and passed 'em around. That way, everyone had a "new" dress, and not too many girls had to buy them.

Well, when I was back at my old school this weekend, I had a thought. We need to have one here! Since few or none of you have dresses, I went around and collected them from the girls at Xavier's. I also had a few from my older sisters that Sarah sent me back when I first got to Westchester. So here's all the dresses I could find. If anyone else has an old one they'd like to contribute, please do. I could only get about 10, and I know there's more than 10 of us. Just, try not to alter 'em too much.

They're all hanging up on that rack. I'll be up here all night catching up on homework, so come by anytime!

"Kitty, I think that'd look great with your complextion." She looks at the dress, thinking. "We can totally get you a date. Not a problem 'round here unless you have a problem taking a gay guy, because all the boys are in love with each other."

"Well, if nothing else, I know there's other girls who don't have dates. You could go with one of them and drive the guys bananas!" She giggles.

"Well, if one of us can't find something...I just thought this might be fun. It could count as shopping." Rogue smiles at Cally from her place at her desk. Two days of homework is not that fun to catch up on.

"And yes, sugah, I think you can definitely pull that one off. Who's the lucky date?"

Umm... Sorta Anders?

We agreed that if we don't find other dates, we'll be going together... but I might just have to pull Joan along with that, just so she doesn't miss out.

So, no real date, I guess.

Rogue looks a little confused. "Isn't he the guy you weren't sure asked you in the first place? Did he unask you? 'Cause if he did, I might have to smack him upside the head." She nods once, rather sharply, but with a touch of amusement.

"I don't, actually, but I'm not all that close to a lot of guys." Silently, she starts going through the guys in her classes. "Well, crap. I'm officially out of ideas of guys cute enough to accompany the future homecoming queen." She winks. "Maybe some new guys will show up soon?"

::rolls her eyes:: Though recent events might just make me swear off boys forever.

"Don't do that." She smiles. "And I can definitely loan you a pair of long gloves. Cover up those bandages."

Rogue gets a happy look on her face. "Oh! I think I thought of someone without a date! You know Jayne?"

Rogue smiles at Chiana, "Sure, sugah. I think that one was my sister Sarah's, and you can do what you like with it. It's a couple inches too long for me." She grins. "If you're anything like her, your date will love it too."
