[South Attic] After the Warding

Illyana has returned home as she promised and is now sitting on her bed in the room she shares with Beka and Callisto. She is more pulled together than she was when she left, and only those that know her extremely well would realize that something big has changed within her. She finishes the wardings of their home, leaving an opening for now for Callisto and Beka to get in. After she is positive that her wards will work, she begins unpacking the bag she brought back with her from Limbo.

After her visit with Inara on the Maru Beka is feeling much better. When she approaches the Attic, she notices a faint tinge of something...vaguely burnt. Carefully, she opens the door and sees Illyana.

She looks...more herself but also somehow less. "Illyana..."

[OOC: We never really discussed the layout of the suite, so we've been treating it as if we each have separate bedrooms and a common area because of Lee staying here for awhile. Maybe we can 'retro-ask' permission to remodel. *g*]

Illyana looks to the door of her room and smiles when she sees Beka standing in the doorway.

"Hey, Beka..."

"Hey." Beka's nervous, though she's not sure why. It's not like Illyana's been gone all that long. "How was...home?"

Illyana worries her bottom lip with her teeth. "Home and yet...not." She looks at Beka, fighting to keep her emotions in check.

Beka steps closer, setting her things on the table. "And yet not? If you're trying to tell me something, I'm not understanding. And I'd like to."

"I missed you guys," Illyana says softly, looking down.

'I'm supposed to be a warrior, a demon sorceress, Beka. but I let a guy like Sawyer fool me and hurt me. So, I went to Limbo, thinking it would help me to heal and repair the damage done to my psych. But...you weren't there. Callisto wasn't there..."

Beka goes to her and sits down, arms open. "We missed you too. Even if Lee's awfully cute." She smiles.

"You aren't supposed to be those things, love. You are those things. We're all pretty broken. You, me, Callisto? There's a reason we're roommates...

"I'm glad you came back."

Illyana hugs Beka. "I couldn't stay away from the two of you. It was like a part of me was missing."

Beka hugs her back. Still worried, but reassured. "We felt...broken...too."

Illyana lays her head on Beka's shoulder. "I'm sorry Beka. I just felt like I was losing what little sanity I was holding onto. It's been a long time since anyone has honestly cared about me."

"Don't apologize. That's who we three are, right? We do what we have to do." Beka kisses Illyana's forehead. Wryly: "I'm not so good with the 'talking it out' either." Getting better though.

"Love has always confused me, Beka. The loyalty and bond I have with you and Callisto, it seems to keep me grounded. I didn't want to tell the two of you how badly Sawyer hurt me because I wanted to show you how strong I could be."

"Strong is knowing when you need help. I think you and Callisto told me that. No?" She strokes Illyana's hair, softens her tone. "It's not like we didn't know..."

Illyana smiles. "No fair using my words against me," she says softly. "When I went to Limbo, I realized that I needed you guys."

Beka grins. "What for? Got some nefarious plot you need help with?" Like Callisto's plan to spike the punch?

Illyana shakes her head. "Not yet...but I do know I don't want to let Sawyer get away with what he's done to me."

This makes Beka nervous. "'Yana, he's so far beneath you. It's not worth it. The worst thing you can do to him is act like it didn't affect you." She considers. "We can tell the other girls though. Make sure he never gets laid here again."

Illyana ponders this. "We could put up posters and everything...we should call a meeting of the girls...and we could assign different jobs."

Beka nods. "Kawalsky. Billboard. So yes." Then she grins. "It'll be good, fun. We don't have to be violent or mean. We can be clever. And you'll get to meet more of the other girls. Which will help you feel stronger."

Beka stops. Considers. "Uh, can we wait til after the elections though? I don't think I can manage another campaign right now. Looks like I finally got an opponent, and I'm going to have to ... pose for posters and crap."

Then she laughs again. "Did you see the hideous poster of me in that pink dress that Shep made??? I wish I'd known you were going to be back. I'd have set you up with him instead of Cally. Would've been worth it to see his head spin over you."

Illyana looks at Beka and grins.

"After the campaign, we'll have the "Make Sawyer Pay" campaign." She shakes her head. "Shep doesn't like me, so he'd never have agreed to it. I guess I should try to find a date."

Beka looks at Illyana, considers Beka/Illyana/Angelus, smirks. "Well, you could always go with Angelus."

(OOC: Ta, love. I'll be back in about an hour and half. *waves*)

Illyana ponders this. "I could do that." She nods. "It's not like I have to worry about falling for him."

((OOC: I won't be back until sometime tomorrow. Feel free to puppet Illyana if she is needed. Also, she'd be happy to do the Beka/Angelus/Illyana thing for Homecoming.))

"He might have a date. But I'm not sure. It'd be funny anyway, what with he and Callisto being the anti-OTP, and me and him fucking on the couch in the common room two days ago. I should buy him a t-shirt that has an arrow pointing to his crotch that says 'Here there be blondes'." She smirks.
