2nd Floor Common Room - Sunday late afternoon

Lana wanders into the second floor common room looking for Archie as he told her he often hangs out here and she's a little too nervous to just show up at his room. She pokes her head in to look around. "Archie? Anyone here?"

Maia glances up from a notebook she is writing in. "Nobody here but me at the moment." She smiles.

"Hi Maia. How are you doing? I was just... well.." Lana flushes. "I'd kind of hoped to find Archie here."

"Oh well I havent seen him today.." Maia looks down at her notebook and closes it. "How have you been?"

"I'm doing well. I saw you at Homecoming with Ms. Sidle. You made a really lovely couple." Lana smiles at her.

Maia blushes. "yeah um, thank you. She was more on the lines of an unofficial date because she had to chaperone it and stuff." Maia is still slightly blushed she is not used to hearing people say they make a lovely couple but she is pleased to hear it. "So Archie, he's a sweetheart" Maia says, capping her pen and turning her whole body towards Lana. "Oh I meant to ask you, how was that detention? I was so worried about you."

"Detention..." Lana shudders. "There were hissing cockroaches there. Really big ones. But all in all it wasn't as bad as I'd thought. I think I was really lucky that Dr. Grissom was running it. He took some blood and did some medical experiments, but nothing too weird. Oh, and there was this girl named Buffy there for a while. We kind of looked out for each other. And Marty was there too, so I felt a little safer." Lana pauses and thinks about the other part of Maia's question, getting a dreamy look on her face. "Archie... Archie is just really amazing."

Maia smiles at Lana's dreamy face and the pauses "He took blood?"

"Archie?" Lana looks confused for a moment, then a little embarrassed, "Oh, sorry, I... of course you meant Dr. Grissom. Yes, yes, he did. Sorry, my mind is just a little... elsewhere, I guess. Why do you ask?"

"Just seems an odd thing to do.. but then, I've spoken to Grissom, he's an odd fellow sometimes. So tell me more about Archie, if you don't mine" Maia smiles setting her notebook aside and grinning. She loved people in relationships they were so wonderful to talk to because they are so happy.

Lana blushed, "Really? I mean, it would be so nice to talk about him with someone. I haven't really got a good female friend here."

Maia grins, "talk away darling I would love to hear all about it." Maia is happy about this, while she does have good females friends they seem a bit involved in their own worlds at the moment and she is a bit lonely.

"Well, I don't know if you know this, but I actually met him because I talked to Charlie Kowalsky about finding me a date for Homecoming. He gave me Archie's name. I was supposed to meet him after detention, but when I went to look for him he wsa in his room with that girl, Cally - you know the one who was named Homecoming Queen?" Lana waits for Maia's acknowledgement then goes on, "So... I didn't interrupt adn just went home. But I decided I couldn't be a wimp so I went looking for him the next day and got knocked out by this kid in the lounge here. Archie found me and carried me to the clinic and stayed by my side all night." Lana smiles dreamily. "I swear it's like something out of a book or something."

Archie wanders up to the second floor common room as he tends to do, and breaks out into a wide grin. "Lana!"

Lana turns away from her conversation with Maia at the sound of her name. "Archie!" She beams as she gets up and starts toward him then stops, unsure of how forward she should be.

Maia smiles at the couple, gets her notebook and pens and says a quick goodbye to Lana and leaves the common room to let the couple have some privacy. I just love people in relationships they are always so happy Maia looks a little sad as she thinks this and goes to her room.

"Bye, Maia," It crosses Lana's mind briefly that she should tell Maia she doesn't have to go, but all she can really think about is Archie right now.

Archie comes over and catches Lana up in a big hug, beaming at her. "It's wonderful to see you. I'm so sorry I missed you yesterday."

She smiles up at him and then snuggles into his chest. "I'm so glad I caught up with you. Yesterday," she shrugs, "I think I slept half the day away. This is much better."

"It is," he agrees, nuzzling her hair. "I missed you. I hope you had as good a time as I did on Friday . . . are you well rested now?"

"Oh yes," she sighed, "It was... almost too good to be true." She smiled up at him a little nervously, "Until just now, I was almost thinking that maybe I'd imagined the whole thing - imagined how well we... *fit*. But I didn't, did I?"

"I don't think you did," he replies, hugging her tighter. "It took me a little while to be at ease with my friends here, but I think I was comfortable with you from the start."

He smiles and kisses her nose playfully. "Even while you were unconscious."

She grins up at him. "You're so sweet. I can't imagine how that could be true, but you're awfully sweet for saying it." She looks up at him more seriously," But I know what you mean. I've just had a hard time fitting in here, getting my bearings, and I was just starting to feel like maybe I should give it up and go back to Smallville, but then I met you."

Archie's smile fades a bit and he looks at her sadly. "I'm sorry. I didn't know it was so hard for you," he says, stroking her cheek. "I started to find my place after a while, so I never thought that I might have been lucky. I'm still a bit lost from time to time, though."

His face lights up playfully, and he scoops her up in his arms, spinning her around until they're beside a couch. "Maybe you and I can help each other fit in some more," he says as he falls backwards into the cushions, laughing.

Lana giggles as she's spun around and lands on top of Archie on the couch. Feeling him full-length under him sobers her a little. She can feel the tension and heat building between them and reaches out a hand to touch his face. "Archie...?"

Archie catches his breath and turns to kiss Lana's fingertips. "Yes? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to . . . was I too forward?"

"Oh, no, not at all. I just thought maybe *I* was..." She hesitates for a moment, biting her lip, then leans in to kiss him.

"Not at all," Archie replies with a grin just before he kisses her. "I'm not quite the gentleman everyone thinks I am, you know."

"I think I'm really glad about that," she whispers and kisses him again.

"So am I," he whispers back, running his fingers through her hair and pulling her into a deeper kiss.

She whispers his name into his mouth as they kiss, totally losing all sense of where she is.

[OOC: I have to go crash. Maybe they can make out on the couch a while more, then Archie can walk Lana home. She's never had sex before, so I don't think things can go much further than that right now - especially not in a public place.]
