Friday afternoon, Room 212/2nd-floor common room.
Angry squawking greets Angela as she unlocks Marty's dorm room door.
Camilla has dragged neckties and jackets into a kind of nest in the middle of the room, though she jumps up from this perch to peck at Angela's shoelaces, alternating the pecks with more vicious squawking.
Great, she thinks. Not just a chicken. Not even just a Muppet chicken. A Muppet chicken with a grudge.
She dodges Camilla with quick steps as she hunts for the bag of poultry feed. Marty had told her that Muppets didn't eat, but that Camilla liked to have food scattered for her to play with every day anyhow. Finding the food, she pours a generous handful of it onto some newspapers. Camilla gives Angela a long, suspicious look before settling in to toss the seed about -- first on the newspapers, then all over the floor.
Do I need to vacuum this?, Angela wonders as Camilla finishes her meal. She decides it can wait until Sunday, and turns to leave.
Camilla tugs insistently at the cuff of Angela's jeans as she opens the door.
"Do you need a walk, girl?", Angela asks, feeling like an idiot.
Camilla bounces and clucks, seemingly in approval.
"Okay," Angela says, with a shrug. "I am taking my boyfriend's pet muppet for a walk."
They roam the dorm hallways, Camilla occasionally tugging at Angela's jeans with her beak. When she does that, Angela learns to wait and watch for Camilla to peck at things. She finds 23 bugs, a battery, and 15 things Angela doesn't want to look too closely at, but thinks might be left over from zombie weekend.
Eventually, they're back at room 212. "Ready to go home?" Angela asks.
Camilla looks at her through sad Muppet eyes.
"Want to explore more?"
More sad eyes.
Angela thinks. What else does Marty do with her?
"Want to watch some TV?"
The clucking and bouncing that follow can only mean yes in Muppet-chicken.
Which is why right now, if you go into the second floor common room, you'll find a redhead watching Oprah with a chicken sitting beside her.
Camilla gets the remote.
