Second floor common room

Anders stakes out the TV section of the common room and turns on ESPN Classic. He's overjoyed to discover that they're currently running Game 1 of the 1988 World Series, and he's just in time for it to get exciting. Bottom of the sixth with one out: it's Oakland 4, L.A. 2, with Marshall at second and Shelby at first, Scioscia at the plate.

He parks himself in front of the TV and starts doing crunches while he watches. By the time Kirk Gibson comes on to pinch-hit in the bottom of the ninth, he's completely forgotten the crunches. And when Gibson hits Eckersley's pitch into the Dodger Stadium bleachers, he's practically doing backflips with excitement.

It's not that he has any idea who these people are, or cares one way or another about any of the teams. He's just discovered that he really, really likes baseball.

The TV blips out right as Gibson is rounding third, and Anders freezes mid-jump, confused, and falls over.

He lies there for a minute.

"Uh. Ow."

Parker is shaking with suppressed laughter from around the corner of the common room. She goes back down the hall, whistling, and twirling her happy little key chain.

Anders rubs his elbow where he hit it. "The TV did. I mean, the TV turned itself off out of nowhere and then . . . yeah."

Um... Callie... I'll go into this discussion working with the assumption that you do know that while both t.v.s and toasters are similiar in that they are appliances, t.v.s are somewhat less threatening.

"ESPN Classic. Baseball. Walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth. Was getting really into it when the TV just went off and it threw me. Uh. TV didn't throw me, just the turning off did. And hey," he adds with a mild glare, "that was before Cally got here."

Dude! Another sports fan! Go Sox! We'll have to watch this year's World Series when it starts.

And no, I didn't think the t.v. actually threw you. By and large they tend to be stationary objects. (though around here, very little would shock me)

Just checking on the Callie thing. She has... *whispers* She has 'issues' with certain appliances. We just let her do her thing, 'cause she's mostly harmless otherwise. *goes back to normal voice* You know, you can check the outcome of that game on the internet.
