Up on the roof
Michael leads Ms. Parker out of the lounge before Quinn has time to voice a protest. He smiles at her, "Didn't think you'd mind me rescuing you. Let's go somewhere out of the way where we can talk without being disturbed - maybe up on the roof?

The view from the roof wasn't something she'd paid attention to before, but it really is lovely; the lights of the town are visible, as are some of the streets, and people moving among the shops after dark. At this distance, they're tiny figures, but still doing recognizable things: window-shopping, stopping to get a newspaper, walking their dogs, parking their motorcycles.
Parker shivers and leans against the railing around the roof. "So. You saw how my day was going. Junk food and airheas. How was yours?"

"I've been working on something that I should probably tell you about. Hopefully, it won't have any effect on you, but...."

Parker twined her fingers with his. "I just-- I don't want him to go after you, but you need to know to avoid him. He's dangerous, and a hardcore bastard. Avoid him until this is all over, please?"

"We were trying to find a way to stop him. I don't want to get into details, this location isn't secure, so to speak. But we found out things about the people he killed, over the centuries. His entire family. Everyone he knew in Ireland." Parker closes her eyes. "A girl he was obsessed with, who was about to become a nun... It's all ugly. For fun. Just to show he could. Because it's what he is."
She stops talking. "I have to believe this is the right thing to do. I don't see anything in him that makes me believe he's changed, and he's admitted he's got a hidden agenda. Someone has to stop him. Soon."

Finally she pulled back, watching their breath steam in the air between them, running a finger along his jawline.

He kissed her again at her door, longer this time, letting her wonder if he'd changed his mind, then drew back with some reluctance. "Au revoir, mon cheri," he said and was gone like a shadow in the night.
