Second floor common room, Sunday afternoon

Having been asked to babysit the "Cube of Wonder", Aeryn wanders into the common room in an attempt to figure out what it is. She knows it isn't a weapon, because otherwise the Tick wouldn't have given it to her, or he would have been blown up long before now.

(She does not contemplate IC the fact that her entire flist was having various degrees of sex last night, omg.)

"Mmm... yes and no. It was good to get away from this place for the day, but it was a bit odd, as most things associated with this place tend to be."

"Well, to start with, all the animals were strange colors," Elizabeth explains. "And people were acting even weirder than usual."

"Animals in strange colours and weird people," Cameron nods. "Was Crazy Squid Lady around?"

"No, thank God. Just The Tick and CJ."

"Right," Cameron frowns. "The Tick tends to attract craziness, though."

"Yeah, I'd noticed that. It seems to be quite common amongst our teachers though."

"True," Cameron frowns.

"I'd suppose you'd have to be insane to teach here... or at the very least, it helps."

"It does seem to be a rule..."

"Uh hu. I mean, look at the teachers... Drusilla, The Tick, Dr Jackson..."

"Maclay..." Cameron winces. "I think I'm pretty much here for what happens outside classes. Except for criminology."

Elizabeth shudders slightly at her name. "Yeah..."

"CJ's cool. And Ms Sidle's not too bad. I've done okay with classes, I think. Barring the obvious mistake..."

"Yeah, you know what you're going to do with that? She gave me the weekend to consider if I wanted to take a replacement assignment."

"I'm dropping the class," Elizabeth replies immediately. She looks down at her hands. "I'm gonna guess you didn't hear any screaming early yesterday morning..."
