Room 239/240 and just outside there - Blah. [NFB]
Kawalsky stared at his PEZ dispenser. He wasn't too sure whether it actually was useful as a C.R.A.C.K. communicator like The Tick claimed, but he did like PEZ. His dispenser had the head of Speedy Gonzalez. Kawalsky loved the little rat and his mischievous ways.
The last few days had been a blur. He hadn't managed to catch up with anyone other than Jack, who was in theinfirmary clinic. He spent most of his free time sitting with Jack, even though Jack was usually asleep. The bedside vigil thing was cliched, but it was what he did. Besides, it gave him a quiet place to work on his homework.
As for classes.. well, he had apologies to make. Charlie had barely said a word in Ethics. He made it to Cyborg Theory, but only to make sure the fembot wasn't off killing someone else whose death could be prevented. He attended Egyptian Archaeology too, but didn't say anything. His homework was second rate and his heart just wasn't in it. Yesterday, he had decided - at the last minute - to drop Advanced Negotiations. There would be time to take it again some other time, but his other subjects were taking priority.
Charlie scratched his chin and pulled on his sweatpants over his boxer shorts, and his shoes over his socks. He grabbed the jacket off the end of his bed and crept to the door, so as not to wake the girls as he slipped outside. He wasn't going to sleep any more this morning. It was time to get on with the day.
