Janet had just been gathering her books to go to the library when she heard someone knock. When she opened the door, she saw Daniel standing there looking upset.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Kitty?" asked Janet, looking at him worriedly. "Yeah, not well, but we've talked once or twice. She and Sam are TAs for Shop class."

"I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be telling you this; the Dean said that he'll be making an official announcement later. But she's been missing for several days now, and Dean Bristow... believes that there's enough evidence to presume that she's dead."

Daniel shuddered, pulling Janet as close to him as physically possible.

"Daniel, shh," said Janet, reaching up to run her hand through his hair. "I'm here. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

Kitty was MIA, and presumed dead? One of the students? Janet sighed. This was high school. They weren't supposed to deal with that in high school.
