Kiki heads out around midday or early afternoon.
Tying a scarf around her neck, Kiki picks up her basket and marches out of the dorm, for once, not on her broom. In the other hand, she's holding a hatchet. She's cutting across the fields towards the forest.
EDIT: Later in the afternoon, she returns. Since the weather has turned cloudy and a little cold, she sits in the 4th floor common room. Her basket is full of long grasses cut from the meadow and the is carrying a thick sapling, taller than she is.
She pulls out a knife and begins shaving down the bark off the sapling.
