E-mail to Safe Walk Volunteers

To: SafeWalk Volunteers (e-mail group)
From: Blank, Marty
Subject: Weapons Use & Inventory

Message:
I've consulted with Dean Bristow and the Mayor regarding the carrying of weapons and magic while on duty for the Safe Walk Program.

As long as the weapons, magical or mundane, are handled responsibly we will be authorized to carry them in town only. However, your first action before drawing a weapon should always be to call the police or Rover on your provided cell phone.

Additionally, the Safe Walk Volunteer must check with the student they are escorting if they are comfortable with you brining a weapon or using magic.

If a student ends up being irresponsible or using their weapons/powers irresponsibly, these rights will be taken away.

A weapons checkout post thread will need to be created for each safe walk. Students will be required to check out their personal weapons and check them in upon their return. Any violation of this and the ability to carry weapons will be revoked.

To facilitate weapons checkout, please reply with the weapons you currently have in the school's weapons locker. You must complete this inventory before you are allowed to check out any weapons.

((OOC From Red:
If you decide to do any plots, bear in mind that Red will view it rather dimly, justified or not, especially in light with the supply of cell phones for calling for official help.))

[[ooc: The previous mun said "The student handbook does not prohibit the possession of fire arms. [since changed] This is a great relief to me, as my gun collection isn't quite what Father had had in mind, I'm sure, when he'd suggested I pack "the most necessary items" before leaving for school. I did not relish the thought of leaving it behind."

So Wesley has some sort of weaponry, but I have no idea what. If he had a sewing machine, I'd be all over it, but guns leave me ?!@?!?!. I need help from a gun person to know what he'd likely have. I'm guessing a shotgun (how did he get it in there?) and a couple of handguns, but I'm pig-ignorant. HELP. ]]

[ooc: Depends on how far along in his sharpshooting you want him to be. Canonically Wes favors pistols, Glocks, and a shotgun. But this is little baby Wesley so he might not have gotten that far yet.]

[[THANK you. I can tell you what he reads, but not what he fires. As of his first appearance in Buffy, he can't hit the broad side of a barn, right? I seem to remember his slowly picking up skills in Angel.]]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Wes was a two-handed sharpshooter in s1 Angel. The impression given was that he always had those skills so, uh, go team ME with the "Canon's whatever we said last" writing? ;)

Either way, he's also late 20s/early 30s by then so that gives him a whole decade to either pick up the skills or hone what he knows. So you have plenty of leeway on however skilled you'd like him to be now]

[Angel can't be in sunlight! But fortunately he has Very Special Glass in his office! Because do you have any IDEA how much night shoots cost??]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Actually that one was the WB. Lighten up the show, they said. Because what you want for a noir is plenty of pretty sunlight. Head -> desk.

Suppose I can't complain. If not for the necrotempered glass of canon Fandom High would be a very dusty place for my boy.]

[[True. I must not blaspheme against canon, for canon giveth life. Or, in your case, undeath.]]

Han scowls and fires off an e-mail. "I live two blocks off campus and store my weaponry aboard my ship. I figured any walk was going to end up there first then where ever the person needed to go."

[identity profile] 12parseckessel.livejournal.com 2005-11-09 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Han fires off a reply back.

"Blastech DL-44 hand-blaster, Energy weapon, range about 20 meters. 15 centimeter boot knife."

Marty--

My lightsaber (sword made of light--glows blue, cuts through just about anything, pretty spiffy) is currently stored off campus, but I can certainly transfer it to the weaspons locker if it would make the beings I'm helping feel better.

Reply to Marty

I have no weapons and would never transport someone using magic without their permission, so no worries there.

Thanks for the clarification

I have a shotgun and two Glock automatics; I also have a Webley Mark IV .38 revolver. I don't expect the shotgun is a wise choice for walking through inhabited areas.

Marty -

Lightning is on me, however, I also have a few knives in the locker. And um, a dagger, second sword, and a double-headed axe. And a cross-bow with some arrows, but I'm not as good with it as I'd like, so it can stay there for a while.

Mary-

I wasn't planning on carrying weapons at all. As I doubt that they'll be needed. If this is a problem, I could get some, however.

Marty-

I have a holy whip and a few daggers, though I'm not sure if either will be needed. Just in case, though.
