Fresh out of the shower, coffee in hand, Beka fired up the laptop and whipped off a group of emails.

Subject: Ethics Article Statements & Permissions

Hey all:

I still would love statements from some of you about what you learned from the Ethics class assignment. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. Just a short reaction.

Callisto, Logan, Major K, I'd love something slightly more comprehensive from you. On the slave revolt and K, on the assignment itself plus your thoughts on the slave revolt.

Buffy, hon, since much of this article will be my reactions, I'd also like a slightly more comprehensive statement from you. (And you can leave the private stuff out of it.)

Also anyone who has commented - this includes Tara, Chiana, Veronica, and Angelus (no, I am not blushing, A. Much.) - or does comment will need to print and sign the attached permission.

For convenience sake, I'm putting up an inbox outside South Attic. You can either drop the statements and permissions in the box or I'll try to run into you today. Need to get the article done, as I've got another for this week.

If you guys would like to be in High Times this week, I've got a slot to do an article comparing you and the Fix-It business.

I need to interview you, and I'll need copies of ~~links to~~ your promotional materials.

If you're interested, let's try to set this up for today or tomorrow. My weekend is packed. I suggest a meeting at my ship out at Lot 44. That way, you guys can take a look at her and say what you'd do to fix her up. I'll get the other guys to do the same. A little multi-tasking never hurt!

Subject: Temporary Roommates?

Callisto, Illyana:

I'm sure you've noticed Buffy's been spending a lot of time at the Attic. I'm not entirely sure whether we're having a 'thing' or if I just make her feel safe and happy. Either way, if it's all right with you, until Illyana gets the Attics fixed up, I'd like to invite her to stay. If it is OK, Illyana, can you convert some space into a room for her? (I kinda need my own for when I'm being het, you know?)

Also, I talked to Rogue in Study Hall yesterday. She's really having a tough time staying in the room she shared with Kitty. She can't pack up Kitty's things because the police might need to search them still. I told her I'd ask you if it'd be all right for her to stay with us for awhile. I think it'd be good for her - and we can keep her safe if there was any anti-nonhuman sentiment behind Kitty's death. Again, it'd be just until Yana got the Attics fixed up ~~and we got all the clearances from the Admins and figured out how the new magic rules affect Illyana's Limbo magic outside the dorms~~. If it's cool, Yana, she'll need a room as well. (Unless one of you is doing her and I don't know it.)

In a nut shell, what I learned was that, as a slave, being passive-agressive is even more fun than it is normally. :) I get that it would be a whole different kettle of fish if my 'master' had permission to hit me or whatever, but since she didn't, I totally worked the 'uneducated masses' thing.

You never follow instructions, do you? *snickers* Can you drop that permission in my Inbox? I need it for Tara.

And, hey, you know, it's been ages since I've seen you. You should call sometime. Or something.

Um... I did that. 'Cause I remember you making a smart remark and me having to redo it. And I did follow directions.

Yeah, things have been a little hectic. Classes and you know... life (such as it is around here ~~especially with a mun who's been run ragged for the past few weeks~~)

Hey, this is Anders. Sorry 'bout the late response, I don't usually have much downtime until the afternoon on Thursdays.

I don't know if we can manage the interview this week, 'cause I'm definitely booked tomorrow night (got big plans), and I've got training tonight. Plus getting hold of Bridge on short notice is pretty tricky. Any way we could maybe split it up? Email portion and arrange some in-person stuff later on? Angelus submits a signed permission slip for Beka to use what he gave her for the article.

Late in the day, Beka picked up the permission slips and smiled. Angelus's was at the bottom. She'd have to make sure to be extra sweet the next time she saw him ~~and hug his player~~. Stressful being a type-A vampire.

Rory submits the following to the inbox:

"Working with Chiana on this project was a delight. While I realize that slavery is undoubtedly an issue, having a 'master' who treated me kindly and fairly due to her own perspective was refreshing. The experience provided me with a new outlook on the subject without any harsh outcomes."
