"Maybe," he says and starts to unlace her other boot. "Maybe not. It's one of those things I overthink. I think entirely too much," he remarks quietly.

"Sometimes," she admits, and attempts to change the subject. "What were the other things you wanted to talk about?"

He pulls off her other boot and it joins the other behind him. He motions for her to give him both her feet. "What'd do you see yourself doing after graduation?" It's another thing he's been thinking about a lot about and something he can't help asking.

It's a loaded question, given that Aeryn knows the odds of graduating before she's called back are aren't great. She gives him her feet and asks, "Why do you ask?"

He pats her feet once before starting his massage. "Curious. Just wondering and stuff. Is there something you see yourself doing in a few years?"

"Given my life, I don't think that far ahead," she says, shrugging. It's best not to plan when you get shot at on a regular basis. "You have plans for yourself?"

He shrugs and doesn't look up from her feet. "Some. Job, wife, kids. That kind of thing. Nothing specific but I'd like to do something with space and physics."

She puts the first part of that statement to the back of her mind, where it won't bother her until later. "Glad to know you're planning on using that brain," Aeryn says, smiling a little.

"I use it sometimes," John says and smiles at her. He's just resting his hand on her legs now, rubbing the shin slightly. "One more question...are you sure I'm not pudgy? Even the damn robot said I was pudgy!"

Aeryn smiles, relieved that this is easier. "How long am I going to be reassuring you about this?" she asks, sitting up straight.

Aeryn pulls her feet off his lap, scooting over to sit beside him. "I'm just going to have to try harder to convince you, then," she tells him.

He pulls up his shirt a little and glares at his belly. He turns his eyes to Aeryn. "What do you think? Pudgy or not?"

John rolls his eyes at her. "I almost take off my shirt and you sigh. I must be losing my touch..."

John smirks and pulls his shirt over his head. It's cold so his skin immediately goosebumps and he rubs his arms. "Better?"

"Much," she nods, and leans in closer. "How much do you think they can hear out there?"

He reaches for another blanket and drapes it across his shoulders. "Not sure. We'd have to be quiet."

"We can try that," Aeryn nods, and takes a moment to kiss him deeply. "It's been a while since I've done that."

He takes the opportunity to wraps his arms around her, pulling her against him. "You're quite loud when you want to be," he whispers, moving to kiss her neck and shoulder.

"Am not," he whispers in her ear before kissing the patch of skin behind it. "How would you know anyway? All your screaming drowns me out."

Now she's the one with goosebumps, running her nails gently over his shoulder. "I pay attention," she breathes. "Multitasking."
