Room 228 - Early Evening

Opening the door with a shove, Chloe goes into her room and drops her bag and backpack unceremoniously on her bed. Turning, she sees Veronica's things scattered on her side of the room, and smiles, realizing she must have gotten back safely from Neptune. That doesn't explain why she's not here though, and Chloe wonders if she's gone up to the attic again to stay with Piper and Rogue.

Piper stood outside Veronica's room and knocked on the door, wanting to make sure she returned safely.

"It looks like it," Chloe replies, opening the door wider to point to Veronica's belongings. "But I haven't seen her. I thought maybe she went upstairs to talk to you."

"Er, you haven't?" Chloe asks, easily matching her concern. "Well, maybe she went somewhere else. One of the common rooms? I mean, she has to be here somewhere," she says resolutely, wondering which one of them she's trying to convince more.

"I guess we could check out the common room." Piper had a feeling they wouldn't find Veronica there, though. She was starting to worry.

After the run-in in town (http://www.livejournal.com/users/veronicamars1/11867.html) Angel and Veronica returned to the dorms together. They made a brief stop to drop off Angel's things at John's room, then went on to 228.

"This you?" Angel asked Veronica as they neared her room.

"Yeah," she said, noticing Piper standing in her doorway.

"Piper? What's up?" she asked, not noticing Chloe standing just inside the room.

Piper turned to face her friend, very relieved to see her. "Veronica, where have you been? I was starting to worry."

"Veronica? Oh thank god. Are you--?" Chloe cuts herself off as she steps out next to Piper, and sees who Veronica's with. "Are you all right?" she finishes weakly.

"Um, yeah, I'm..." she didn't want to get into what happened, at least not out in the hall where anyone can hear them.

Then she realized that she had no clue what, if anything, Piper and Chloe knew about Angel and the soul thing.

She glanced at each of them. "Maybe we should go inside and discuss this," she suggested.

Veronica noticed the distrusting looks on her friends' faces.

"I'm fine. Thanks for... well... everything," she said, giving Angel a look that said she'd explain everything to her friends.

"No problem," Angel told her. He looked uncertainly at Piper and Chloe. "Nice, uh, meeting the both of you."

He moved to leave.

As soon as Angel walks away, Veronica herds her friends in the room.

"I know you guys have questions and I'll answer them," she says, "but inside, where it's private."

Once they're inside, she turns to shut the door and notices Rogue walking down the hall.

"Rogue! In here!" she calls. Good, now I only have to tell the story once.

After Rogue enters, Veronica closes the door and walks to her bed to sit down.

Rogue looks worried. "I didn't see you around this afternoon, and with all that's goin' on..." She swallows. "I was worried. What's goin' on?"
