2nd Floor Common Room: Friday Night Triad Game

Cally begins pulling chairs together, getting the room set up for a nice friendly game of Triad. Very friendly, given the fact that only three of the people invited have even played games with non-rectangular cards before. She sets the cards down, next to the two full bottles of ambrosia and the large stack of little plastic mock-cubits that Cally pulled out of her stuff in #213.

Everything seems to be ready, other than light snacks, which Anders is off getting. Cally has busied herself now with reheating the leftover rolls, yams, and green bean casserole from yesterday's 'Thanksgivaling' feast that she and Anders made.

[ooc: okay, two OCD threads. Yeah. Come on in, invited folks (and a gatecrasher or two might get to join in the game, too)]

Because people have to show up, yo.

Where we all pretend like there's a full set of rules, and not just an idea about what two of the possible hands are.

Anders comes bursting into the common room, his nose red from the cold and bags of sodas and snacks in his hands.

"Wow. Gettin' cold out there. I'm not used to it yet." He laughs and heads over to the counter to start laying out bags of chips, plastic cups, and bottles of soda. "Get the ambrosia?"

Cally points at the table. "Right there." She hops over and hugs Anders, rubbing his back quickly in hopes of helping him warm up.

"Perfect. You did great, coach." He nods and hugs Cally back, hoping he's not making her cold. "My nose feels frozen," he complains, rubbing it against her shoulder.

Bridge bounces (as per usual) into the common room, a plateful of toast in one hand.

"I brought toast!" It's buttery!" he says, with a fingerwiggle accompanying the last word.

"Yo!" John walks into the common room with a bottle of soda under one arm and some candy corn in the other.

Cally kisses Anders on the cheek. "And as long as you aren't using me as a handkerchief, you are totally welcome to warm up your nose on me." She giggles.

"Not usin' you as a handkerchief," he protests. "Just tryin' to warm up." Anders looks at Cally, hoping for a kiss on the nose.

"Toast, yay!" Cally waves to Bridge. "Go ahead and set it over here with the roll, and the snacks and stuff.

Cally kisses Anders on the nose, as if she could read his mind as to what he was hoping for. "Didn't say you were. Just sayin' I wouldn't appreciate that. Snot's gross."

"Stop stealing my line, man."

"Okay, when you walk in a room and say Yo, without Vala or Aeryn, I can't tell which one you are." Cally looks confused. "So... Cam or John?"

Anders, his nose still red from cold, waves cheerfully over to Bridge. "Carson! And toast! Awesome!"

"The prettier one," John answers. "Or John Crichton."

"It's a good line," John tells him. "Very durable."

"He's the pudgy one," Cameron replies and holds out the chocolate cake he brought;

"It kicks ass," Cameron agrees.

"Right. Prettier one." Cally glances between Cam and John, and ultimately files away the knowledge that John is slightly chubbier than Cam in the back of her mind, but says nothing out loud.

"Ready for a nice happy game of Triad?"

Anders grins. "Yeah, it's gross. Promise I didn't get any on you, either." He looks mildly paranoid, though, and starts brushing off Cally's shoulder, relieved when there's no sign of snot.

"Oh, I got you something too," he adds, beaming proudly as he pulls a small paper bag (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000UJGYG/sr=1-21/qid=1132969014/ref=sr_1_21/103-2533248-9003068?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance) out of his sweatshirt pocket and hands it to her.

"Whoa. Chocolate cake." Anders's eyes go wide. "We're not skimpin' on the food here tonight, that's for damn sure."

"Cake! Yay!" Bridge exclaims happily. "Thanks, dude."

"Can't have a party without cake, man." Cameron grins.

"Whoa, another gift? I'm totally getting behind on this whole gift thing." She pulls the gloves out of the bag and smiles. "Thanks! This'll help with finishing off the Viper in the cold. Awesome!"

Cally leaps up on her toes and kisses Anders. "You're so very, very too nice to me, you know?"

"I brought drinks and snacks," John says and piles them into Cally's arms.
