Sunday Afternoon, Dorms

After a day and a half of packing, Sam was ready to move downstairs into her new room. She looked around at the boxes, for once thankful that all she had were her textbooks, her clothes, and the gifts she'd gotten since she got here. It shouldn't take her more than an hour or two to carry everything down to Room 231.

She picked up the first milk crate full of books and carried it downstairs, a bag of her clothes perched precariously on top.

Charlie nodded. "We need a party. Even if it's a 'let's watch bad movies and stuff' party."

"Does it have to be bad movies?" Sam made a face, then bent down to pick up one of the three boxes. Two of the three had books, and one had notebooks from her desk, so they were all pretty equivalent in weight. "And I'm not doing anything...well, ever, it seems. I'm good with whenever."

"Or good movies. But just don't let Jack pick, or it's gonna be bad movies."

"You don't have to tell me that twice, Kawalsky. At least you feel my pain. The worst is that he thinks they're good."

"I think we need to 'accidentally' break his copy of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians," said Janet. "Unfortunately, I think that's why he hid it."

"Hmm. I wish he was susceptible to bribes. It would really make stuff like this easier."

"This weekend, maybe?" asks Janet. "But no Truth or Dare this time. I don't want to make any more inauspicious crank phone calls."

Sam grinned. "I think that last prank call was very auspicious. Or at least enlightening." She glanced around the room. Her side was empty, but Buffy's was still full. "I think this is our last trip up here, thank goodness."

"No more stairs," said Janet. She picked up the last box. "At least something good came out of my drunken humiliation."

"I remember helping my sister move into her dorm room. She had WAY more stuff than you. She didn't need it, but couldn't bare to leave it behind in case mom went on a cleaning spree and threw stuff out while she wasn't around to defend it."

"Well, there'll be stuff I forgot, I'm sure, but it's not like I'm moving to Spain. I can always knock on the door or leave Buffy a note if I need something."

"Besides, my clothes are littler. They don't take up as much room."
