4th Floor Common Room...

Having heard that a friend - Beka - had been turned into a hamster, Shep sets out to see if there's anything he can do about it.

He's got a scathingly cunning plan... if he can just find her.

Step one, set out food. He isn't entirely sure what a formerly-human-turned-rodent would eat, so he goes with a mix of fruits and vegetables. With any luck that would draw her out.

He then flopped on the couch to wait and see if she'd come out.

Lana wanders by as she heads back to the West Attic from Biology. She glances in briefly as she heads for the stairs, then turns back. "Shep?" she looks at the plate of food curiously. "What are you doing?"

Would you believe me if I said I was waiting for a friend?

She raises her eyebrows. "I don't know. Are you?" She looks around. "Clearly a vegetable and fruit loving friend..."

*Stares at the plate on the floor, knowing that it's probably more that it's a plate of fruit and veggies on the floor that's causing more of Lana's confusion than the actual snack.*

She's gotten rather... small. I'm hoping she'll come out for food so we can... talk. Only I don't think she can do that right now. *hefts backpack up* But that's okay, 'cause I have a plan for that too.

"Uh huh... So... how many of those pain pills *have* you taken today?" Lana asks teasingly. "Oh, wait! You're talking about Beka, aren't you? I heard something on the radio... Weird, I just talked to her the other day = giving her your message actually."

She shakes her head. "This place - cats, hamsters... And did you hear Cam got turned into a puppy?"

Frighteningly enough, I've cut back a little. I needed to be awake for class. Thing is, I haven't been able to get into the clinic for... well a while to find out if there's like... a step down drug. Ibuprofin is so not cutting it. And these other things knock me out. But from what I hear, the docs have been having a bit of a rough week themselves. But Shop Class + good drugs = bad, bad mess.

And yeah, I mean Beka - I wasn't sure who knew what. Wes thinks maybe he knows someone who might be able to do something for her - or, as he said, maybe make things much worse.

I've heard. Though after seeing him with Vala, I'm not sure anyone will notice the difference.

"Yeah, I can imagine the ibuprofen wouldn't even touch it." She looks at him sympathetically. "Must really be miserable. I wish there was something I could do to help."

"Beka... well, I heard about it on the radio - and you know, people talk..." She shrugged. "It's amazing how much stuff I hear just because I'm quiet."

She laughs at his comment about Cam. "You are soooo bad!"

Something you could do about it??? You kept me from bleeding to death. You did your bit. I promise. Anyway, the big problem now is that when I'm really still it doesn't hurt so much... almost not at all. But then I forget that it's all sliced up and start to something with it out of habit and go "Right! Stupid... you busted up your hand. It doesn't work right now." And then it hurts for a few hours, so I rest it, and then it doesn't hurt and we start the cycle all over again.

Anyway, yeah, I heard about Beka on the radio too. I have no idea how it happened.

I'm bad? Did you ever *see* him? Oy.

Lana waves a hand at him, "That's not what I meant. I can still feel bad that you're in pain, can't I? And wish I could help? Don't answer that. I'd probably have to hit you if you did."

She thinks about Cam and Vala together and grins a little, "Actually, funny thing. I met Beka 'cause she got all jealous that I was talking to Cam - early on when I first got here. I had no idea there was anything going on and honestly, I was just happy to talk with someone and wasn't thinking anything beyond that. But she..." Lana laughs. "Well, she left me a nice voice message after she'd calmed down."

Uh oh... guess she won't be coming for the food now.

Anyway, don't get worked up over my hand. It could be worse. It was worse. Seriously, don't worry about me. Remember - I once turned into a bug, this is nothing.

Beka and I started a fight in Diplomacy class. Now how's that for irony? Now that I think of it, that may have had something to do with Cam too. It got way nastier before it got any nicer, but we called a truce eventually, sort of not really dated for a bit and then ended up friends.

Lana listens to. "Guess she won't. Oh well, at least maybe they can help her. Oh, and I can worry if I want to. Not that I am. Much." She thinks briefly about sticking out her tongue at him, but decides against it.

"You 'sort of not really dated'?" She rolls her eyes. "I assume that means what I think it means? Well, at least you ended up friends. I know she'd planned to check in on you before she got well... hamsterized."

Well, if you want the details, we kept ending up in bed together not having sex. It was Beka. It was weird... which I guess are kind of the same thing.

Hopefully the dean et al can sort her out. I did wonder why I didn't hear from her.

"Well, okay. More information than I needed - expected? Maybe?" Lana gives him a quirky grin and tucks a stray lock of hair behind one ear. "But since you've brought it up, so to speak, is that your... usual... modus operandi?" She raises her eyebrows at him.

Well, it could have been worse... I could have been giving you details about if we HAD slept together. More than just literally.

And exactly why are you asking that? *raises eyebrow* And do you mean not having sex with girls or talking about it to anyone who asks?

"Now *that* I don't think you'd do. As for the other..." Lana puts her face in her hands for a minute. "I don't know. It's not like me at all, but I guess after the ultra-embarrassing body shots conversation I just had with Han and Maia in biology... Sorry. Though technically, I suppose my answer would have to be yes to both actually. And feel free to just shoot me now before I sink into the floor."

*raises hand, gun shaped and points at Lana*

Bang.

In all seriousness, I'm not the kiss and tell sort, really. I'm more the 'don't kiss and tell, and then pretend you did anyway to wind people up sort'.

*blinks*

Body shots conversation? Not that I'm at all surprised that Han was involved in that.

Look, if Beka's not gonna show, I'm gonna run. ~~the mun has tickets to "Chicago"~~ I'm still catching up on homework. Good to see you again though.

"Yeah, it was... interesting. Anyway, I have to run myself. Take care!"
