4th Floor Common Room

Not having heard anything about Beka being restored, Shep is in the 4th floor common room again. He has a fresh plate of fruit and veggies out and the napsack of 'stuff' he'd need to communicate with her if she showed up. Jeopardy is on again, and he's answering most of the questions before the players.

Lana comes into the common room, mumbling under her breath and looking a little distracted. She doesn't notice Shep at first and when she does she seems startled and a little embarrassed. "Oh, hi, Shep."

She notices the plate of fruit and such on the floor again. "Still looking for Beka, I see?"

Hey there. Someone has to... and I mean, even with a bum arm, I can put out a few grapes and stuff and sit and watch the tube to see if she shows.

*looks at Lana... decides she's looked better*

Everything okay? You look a little... I don't know... preoccupied?

"Oh, well..." she hesitates, not sure how much to say. "It's just my roommate and her boyfriend have been fighting a lot and the other night he actually broke part of the door and... well I suppose I'm kind of a coward, but Ijust took off. I knew he wasn't going to hurt her, but I just couldn't listen. I came down and tried to sleep in here and Kiki, sweet person that she is came by and let me sleep in her spare bed. But I've lost my book that I took with me and..." She looks up at him. "I'm sorry. I'm rambling. I'm really okay. Really."

*tilts his head completely to the side, studying her*

Oh, so I get it, I can bleed all over your pretty costume, but you can't gripe about your roommate to me... I see how it is.

*gives her a silly grin.*

She makes a face, "I know, I'm being silly. I see now that I should have come pounding on *your* door the other night!" she smiles back at him.

"Uh, the book, well... it's... atrashyromancenovelbyNoraRoberts." And her face flushes again.

You'd have been welcome to the cat-bed. Afraid that's all I would have had to offer you though. And I'm not sure what Oregeno would have said to that.

*snickers at the way she rushes through the book thing* Must have been learning something awful interesting to be turning those kinds of colors just talking about it. *raises and eyebrow in question*

"What? You mean you wouldn't have rushed upstairs and sorted them out for me?" Lana says jokingly.

"And you know very well it wasn't a book I was studying... it's just... light reading, but, well, I was at a good part and I wanted to be able to finish it."

She looks at him closely. "How is your hand, by the way? Have you started the PT yet?"

Well, okay, I could have done that. Maybe. They won't let me carry my 9mm and I have a hand that resembles julliane fries, so I'm not sure how successful I would have been. I just thought you were saying you were looking for someone to shack up with.

*Shep opens his mouth and closes it several times, clearly unwilling the first nine things that spring to mind* You really shouldn't leave a guy with an opening like that. I'd hate to get a reputation as just another crass guy.

P.T. SUCKS! I was told that I should look for a band of horny Klingons, 'cause they'd be more fun. And I think he was right. I have to do exercises three times a day. This is the part that's gonna suck. And not in the good way.

Lana's eyes go wide and she blushes even more. "I... No! I mean, I just..." She's too flustered to find a way to make sense and she doesn't even know how she should respond anyway. "Just... oh, never mind."

"A band of... I don't know if I want to know." She shakes her head. "Anyway... is there anything I can do to help? I had a friend once who needed to do hand exercises and at first they needed someone to help move the hand gently. I'd be glad to volunteer.... And I wouldn't mind the opportunity to harass you a little..." She grinned mischievously at him.

*Shep slides down the couch to sit closer to Lana and puts his good arm around her shoulders* You're so much fun to wind up. *He hugs her into his body to show that he's just playing. Besides, Lana looks like she just kind of needs a hug in general*

Like you need a reason to harass me. But, yeah, there are a few that I'm supposed to have someone help me out with. I don't want to put you out or anything though. unless you enjoy watching grown boys scream in pain.

Lana is surprised and stiffens for a moment, then relaxes into the hug, resting her head on his shoulder briefly. "She pulls back a little, still with his arm around her, and smiles up at him. "Thanks, I think I really needed that. And yes, I'd be more than willing to help you out. I wouldn't have offered otherwise."

Just to see her blush Shep mumbles, "Why do I feel like I've just acquired my very own dominatrix?"

Lana elbows him in the ribs, "Hey! You better watch out. I'm going to be in charge here now!" She can't keep from grinning though. "I suppose this means I have to dig out my leather outfit, then?" she says teasingly, then blushes even more.

Lana sobers instantly. "I hope so. Kiki was really nice to let me crash with her, but I really would like to sleep in my own bed. We'll see, I guess."

Lana glances down at her watch, "Oh, gosh, I promised Lex, my guardian?, that I'd check in with him tonight. I have to run. I'll catch you later, okay? And help you with your PT - in the morning?"
