4th floor common room [Evening]

Anakin staggered into the fourth floor common room and collapsed onto a sofa.

Getting into a drinking contest with Faith that afternoon had probably not been the smartest idea ever.

But he was here for the Deep Thoughts meeting, if anyone wanted to join him.

He flipped on the television, looking for something suitably depressing to watch.

Lee comes in, looking tired, cranky and thoroughly emo. Woe. "Hey, Anakin"

"Hey, Lee," Anakin replied slightly blearily. "You look tired and cranky. What's up?"

Lee shrugs and waves the question off. "What's on the telly, Anakin?" he says sullenly.

Anakin looked up. "Um, some cop show with guys with stupid hair. I think there might be car chases soon, though."

He smiled doofily at Angela and Rory, then turned back to Lee. "I might be a little drunk" he whispered in a voice loud enough to carry across the room. "But Faith was leaving and it seemed like the right thing to do, you know?"

"Yeah, it sucks that Faith is leaving, she was nice," he says. "Need some water?" he asks, "or more of the hard stuff?"

"Water's probably a good idea," Anakin replied. "Especially given what happened to the last people who drank in a common room."

He turned and looked at Lee. "Heard about Kara on the radio. How's she doing?"

He pulls a fresh water bottle out of his bag and hands it to Anakin. "Here ya go."

"Um, I think she's... well... I'm not sure. She'll be fine, I'm sure of that, but right now it's just going to be a really tough time, I think," he says, looking away. "Pyramid is her life, you know."

After finding the note on the band room door, Angela and Rory shrug and make the climb to the common room. "I hope Anakin brought the Twinkies with him," Angela says sheepishly. "I'm, like, addicted to them in these meetings."

"I thought this was like, Brooders Anonymous," Rory says. "We get Twinkies? Isn't that kind of a cheerful food?"

"It's TOTALLY Brooders Anonymous. Usually I'm, like, the only girl," Angela says, scratching her nose. "I think the band teacher gives us the Twinkies. Junk food is emo if you look sad when you eat it, right?"

"Sure, why not," Rory agrees amicably. "Should I be practicing my woeful looks right now? Do I look suitably depressed? I don't want to be the anti-killjoy."

Angela tilts her head and folds her arms, considering. "You look like somebody just told you your hamster had liver cancer," she says, finally. "So, you're fine. What about me?"

Rory bit her lip thoughtfully. "You look as though someone told you without question that there might not be those Twinkies at the meeting, and what's more, puppies are going extinct," she said conclusively. "I think we're set."

Puppies are going extinct?" Angela's lower lip trembles, and is still trembling as she sits down cross-legged on the floor of the common room. She waves to Lee and Anakin before turning her attention back to Rory. "So how are you? Other than depressed by the tragedy that is life in general."

Belthazor walked into the fourth floor common room and was almost sent staggering by the wave of emo that hit him. "Well, this looks like a fun Thursday night," he said sarcastically.

"Yeah, it's almost as thrilling as glaring at my boyfriend or making out with a vampire," Angela says sardonically. "Hi."

Bel may have blushed. Or it may have been just the light. "Hey, your boyfriend started it," he said dismissively. "Can't help it that he wants to watch ever move I make."

"If I didn't know you both had girlfriends, I'd seriously just tell you guys to get a room already," Angela replies evenly. "Might not be a bad idea anyhow. Also? Zero says you're, like, upsetting the books. And she would know."

"Upsetting the books?" Bel repeated. "That's a new one. How do I manage to do that, pray tell?"

Angela shrugs. "Don't know, ask Zero. I'm not the one who signed a contract in blood with the library."

"But it isn't any weirder than shooting fire out of your fingers."

Rory simply shot him a look of disgust and turned back to watching the amazing escapades of hair gel boy on TV.

"Got a problem?" Bel asked casually.

"Nothing that you need to worry about," Rory replied, not shifting her gaze from the screen.

"Good, because I don't worry about you at all," Bel said, smirking. "Or your suicidal boyfriend, for that matter."

"Don't have a boyfriend anymore," Rory said lightly. "And somehow, I'm not at all shattered by your lack of concern for me. Should I be?"
