Parker is wearing her new "Tough Cookie" pajamas, her cat slippers, and a smile. She has popcorn, Diet Coke, pretzels, and episodes of "America's Next Top Model: the Reunion."

She is snarking for all she is worth.

"Call yourself a model? Dear God, did you put the makeup on with a spatula?"

Faithful purred. "It's her nature, to help. And she's afraid that her friends will leave her, when they learn the truth. She's silly like that. Don't you have a family?"

"Just my father. A couple friends." Parker rubbed Faithful's head, and shrugged lopsidedly. "And he's hardly ever there, and I hate the place so much sometimes, it tends to ruin being with people I love."

Faithful mewed in agreement. "Can you leave?"

"I'm here, aren't I?" Parker perched one hand on her chin, and stroked the cat's shoulders. "Permanently, I have to go back. And try to change it. That's the plan, anyway." She sighed. "Sometimes it doesn't seem worth it, though."

"All good things are worth fighting for. That's what makes life...interesting. For you humans at least."

Faithful starred off into space. "Watching people change. Watching...everything change. The shrimp are a nice bonus."
