Second Floor Common Room [all day]

Veronica sets up Christmas cookies on the table and puts her pile of holiday dvds next to the TV.

Then she goes to hang flyers around the dorm, inviting everyone to the Holiday Movie Marathon that she & Jack planned.




[ooc: sadly i'm afk most of the day, hopefully Harkness will be around. This is open to anyone and everyone as a way to encourage more interaction between people who don't usually have an opportunity to interact. Feel free to mention that V's around and I'll try to set up some conversations when I get home, depending on how late it is.]

White Christmas!

Kiki does something extremely rare for her, and sleeps in until noon. Seeing the sign on the girls' room door about the movie marathon, she grins and heads down to the second floor common room, wearing a chunky comfortably-too-large gray sweater, blue plaid flannel pants, and a pair of yellow ducky slippers, all of which is important in that it is rare that anyone sees her in anything other than her habitual black.

White Christmas or The Christmas Story?, she ponders, looking at the DVDs. She blinks and shakes her head a little, as if trying to dislodge an unpleasant thought, and puts in White Christmas. She very much needs some Bing right now, to get Frank Sinatra out.

On her way back from the gym, Aeryn passes through the common room, stopping a moment to see what's on. "What is this?" she asks.

"White Christmas," Kiki answers with a grin. "Bing Crosby and Rosemary Cloony - I believe the proper term for them is 'OTP.' Have a seat, you haven't missed anything. Bob - Bing, that is - is in the army during this war, and they're saying good-bye on Christmas to their general who's retiring."

On the screen, Bing and totally not gay Danny Kaye are leading the troops in a rousing chorus of "We'll Follow the Old Man."

"Yep! Some of them are the ones me, Piper & Chloe baked last night and some I bought at the store," Veronica said with a grin. "How've you been, Janet? Haven't seen you lately."

"Either homemade or store-bought are delicious," said Janet, nibbling on a cookie. "I've been keeping a little too busy, actually, and I'm almost always working in the library. I'm so glad the semester's winding down. How about you? Are things going well?"

Piper wanders into the common room to watch the movies because she promised Veronica she would. She sits on the couch and glances at the tv. "Ooh, "A Christmas Story." My favorite."

Angela comes in and watches part of the movie, laughing. "Did they make this, like, for serious?" she wonders aloud.

Then, noticing Veronica, she pulls a long, thin package wrapped in snowflake paper from her bag. "Hey, Veronica? I have something for you."

"Hey, Angela! Oh, I have something for you, too. Hang on, let me run back to my room and grab it."

Veronica leaves for a few minutes and then comes back with a small, flat package.

"Here!" she says, handing it to Angela. It contains a gift certificate for a Day of Pampering at the NPC Day Spa in town.
