Monday Evening - Room 402

Shep props the door open (and keeps half an eye on Olive to make sure she doesn't sneak out) and leaves Lana a voice mail to say that he's in.

After a message on the white board that simply says "You. Find me." he figures he better let her know where he is and not move.

He's reasonably sure he's not actually in trouble. But this is Lana - who's female - so really... anything goes.

[thread opened for Lana, but anyone's free to wander by, the door's opened to a public hall after all.]

You were getting screwed. It sucked. And don't tell me you weren't pissed - I was the one you were pouting to. You were doing so much work delivering for everyone else, you were holding up your end of the deal... That you were getting screwed over was just beyond wrong. I figured one of two things would happen - I'd either guilt your real Santa into stepping up, or I'd cover it so you didn't get left out.

And did you get roses? 'Cause those weren't from me.

"I was so not pouting, you brat. Whining a little maybe."

She went over and crawled up on the bed next to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you so much. You are the sweetest thing ever."

"And yes, I did get roses the same day I got the -" She stops dead. "You got me another Renn Faire dress. I mean, obviously, if you were my... Damn it, Shep, I told you you didn't have to do that!"

"Well, I wasn't going to be the first one to bring the word 'whining' into this conversation. I do have some self-preservation skills."

Shep kisses her lightly. "You're welcome. People oughtn't sign up for optional stuff like that if they aren't going to follow through. It wasn't your fault. I was a little annoyed after a while when I didn't get anything either, but my Santa finally kicked it into gear. It wasn't your fault you got a bum."

"And yeah, I got you the dress. I told you I'd pay you back for it somehow. Me being stupid shouldn't equal you out a very pretty, and probably very expensive dress. And this way you couldn't tell me no. But the roses weren't from me. Have fun figuring that one out."

He smiles hoping the mystery will derail her off the dress thing.

"You may be a brat, but at least you're a smart brat," Lana said with a smile.

"Hmmm... the roses... I wonder if they were from my original Secret Santa. Kiki told me who it was supposed to be. Very curious." She leaned back against him, thinking.

"But don't think I've forgotten the whole dress thing. Though... the one you got me is quite beautiful. I'd left it out to show you after the fireworks, but with the, um... contraband and all I think we got a little distracted."

"Not, as it turns out that I *needed* to show you. Brat."

Shep beams. "I am a smart brat. A+ in Ethics and an A in Speech. So far so good with this whole school thing."

"The roses weren't from your original Santa. I know who gave them to you not that I'll tell you and that person was just someone else who was pissed that you were being ignored."

"I think we would have been distracted with or without that stuff I managed to procure that night. But yeah, I've seen it. And I had this whole fake 'Wow that's really great of your Santa' speech worked out too. Complete with mock surprise."

"Really? Congratulations! Not that I would have expected anything less. I know I have an A in Bio and I'm pretty sure I got one in Archaeology too. And I am now officially done with this semester!" She grinned.

"Was it Wes? He really was a sweetie once he stopped running away all the time."

"And well, I think I'd promised to distract you, so I suppose it's a good thing." She shakes her head, "Speech all prepared. Whatever am I supposed to do with you?"

"Congrats on your grades. I'm still not sure what's going on with Linguistics. And shop... who the fuck knows. I think that's all my classes."

"What are you supposed to do with me? You haven't figured it out yet? We'll need to find some time for me to remind you." He cants an eyebrow suggestively.

"Two left, hmmm...? And classes end Wednesday which means we have 2 days before we have to head off to different places for the break..."

"Oh, I did promise Han that I'd go to the Solstice bonfire thing and that I'd drag you along. It's kind of a goodbye thing for Bagoas, though I think that part's supposed to be kept between us. And yes, it will definitely be worth your while." She gives him a *look*.

"Oh yes, that would be good. I seem to be a little slow in this area so I need lots of reminders... Which reminds me... There's something I want to talk to you about later. But for now..." She goes over and closes his door before rejoining him on the bed and snuggling up to him. "This will do."

[OOC: Fireworks?? WTH??? Just re-reading this and really, how did "caroling" end up as "fireworks"? Though perhaps there were some fireworks after they got home? ;) Sheesh! Where is my brain these days?]
