Monday night - outside on campus grounds
Kawalsky was super-sneaky-stealth-like as he put the second pressure trip wire into place. He only had the most simplistic of equipment, but hey - this was what he used to do for a living, only without the killing and the gunfire and all that.
He looked through his night vision goggles at the far end of the trip wire. Yep, it was ready. Now all he had to do was implement Part II of Operation Distract Rover.
He pulled out his badge and pinned it to his jacket. The badge clearly said "Bob Otto Rover."
Now all he needed to do was find the big white ball.

*he squeaked too much for that.*
*but deep in his rubbery soul, he sensed something was happening.*
*sort of like...rover-dar.*
*only...not.*
*out on his patrols, rover squeaked down the halls.*
*he squeezed out the doors.*
*and he rolled.*

*waiting still for the student to approach, he vibrates.*
*this is not what was setting off his rover-dar.*
*...that didn't exist.*
*patient (can rover be anything else?), he waited.*

*the tickle deep in his rubbery body notwithstanding, this was a student.*
*who he protected.*
*and sometimes rolled.*
*but only when he had to.*
*ok. maybe he enjoyed it.*
*with a wiggle, kept rolling, slower, next to the student."

omgscary'. I love this school very much despite my short time here and I'd like to see things running more smoothly between the staff and students. I've heard that Principal Bristow is leaving, so I've held off on my plans for him to dress like a leprechaun and give out lucky charms. But that doesn't mean the whole plan needs to skid to a halt. That's why I'm talking to you."Kawalsky pulled out another badge. "What we need for better communication is a kinder, gentler face to the staff. That's where this campaign comes in. 'Rover' is a very proud, strong name. A little *too* strong. Too impersonal. People want to know that they're being taken care of by someone they know more about on a personal level, someone approachable. So here's what I'm thinking - we give you a first and middle name. 'BOB OTTO ROVER'. It has a ring to it, don't you think?"
He hoped Rover thought so, because he really didn't want to get rolled over by part of the Stay-puft Marshmallow Man.

*wigging at the student, he was...hesitant.*
*his own name?*
"bob otto rover...bob otto rover...bob otto rover...*
*he did like the sound of that.*

*rover listened.*
*he wasn't so sure he needed to be more personable.*
*he was rover.*
*and he rolled.*
*...or roved.*
*still, the name was nice.*
*it rolled, much like rover did.*
(ooc: rover-mun is totally dying on the hard sell)

Outside, around campus, three borrowed boom boxes burst into life playing the same song - Britney Spears' Toxic.
"Baby, can’t you see
I’m calling
A guy like you
Should wear a warning
It’s dangerous
I’m fallin’.."
Kawalsky pretended to look startled. "What the..?"

*he vibrated.*
*he rolled around, disoriented.*
*music coming from different directions.*
*breaking the rules of no loud music at night.*
*...maybe not a rule.*
*a social contract?*
*rolling into action, rover rolled to the nearest source of loud music.*

Kawalsky smirked and started walking in the opposite direction to disable the other wire. He'd come back for this one later. He just hoped no one wanted their boom boxes back.
After he was far enough away, he checked in on the radio. "Lazarus to Control. We have one confused powder puff of doom. Repeat, mission accomplished."

"There’s no escape
I can’t wait
I need a hit
Baby, give me it
You’re dangerous
I’m lovin’ it
Too high
Can’t come down
Losing my head
Spinning ‘round and ‘round
Do you feel me now
With a taste of your lips
I’m on a ride
You’re toxic
I’m slipping under
With a taste of poison paradise
I’m addicted to you
Don’t you know that you’re toxic
And I love what you do
Don’t you know that you’re toxic!"
