The Lobby - Santa Kawalsky is in da house

The lobby looked different. There was fake snow and fake trees and a little picket fence and fake reindeer. There was also a big throne-like chair in the center of it all. A sack of small random gifts was off to the side.

The throne was occupied. There sat a big, somewhat jolly fellow in a Santa costume.

Santa Kawalsky was in. He would wander around and harass people later, but for now he sat, waiting to see if anyone wanted to visit Santa, even if only for a laugh.

"HO HO HO!" he bellowed.


[OOC: Santa Kawalsky will be visiting random dorm threads (town ones on request), if there are any today, but for now he's in the one spot so come visit if you want to! Now by slow-play as I'm off being forced to socialize.]

She nods, taking all this in. "Sure. Did you happen to see the gremlins, too, last night?"

"No.. what'd they do? I hope they didn't steal my cookie stash."

"They, um... nevermind," she says, surreptitiously looking him over for bites. She probably wouldn't be able to see them, though, due to the suit and beard. "I can take you down to the clinic if you need help."

"Nah. This is 100% genuinely me. No gremlin bites as a convenient excuse for embarrassing behavior." He leaned over to the side of the throne and pulled a small wrapped package containing a packet of shortbread cookies and offered it to Aeryn.

Aeryn takes it, hesitantly. "So... why arw you doing this?" she wonders.

"Because otherwise I'd be sitting around moping about not being able to send a letter home for Christmas. This?" He gestured around. "Is way more fun."

She has to admit there's probably something to that. "I'm going to start carrying that camera thing," she promises.

"Around this place, carrying a camera is a good idea. You never know what's gonna happen next."

Unabe to resist the urge, Aeryn pokes at the end of his hat.

The hat jiggled and swung back at Aeryn. It definitely wasn't sentient, but it wasn't exactly normal either.

Aeryn gives the hat a concerned look. "Right. I'm not entirely convinced that the hat isn't possessed."

"I'm not either, but it hasn't tried to eat my head yet."

Aern's not sure if he's teasing or not, so her offer of "I can get one of my weapons," isn't entirely joking.

"So far it's just got a mind of its own. No teeth, no whisperings in my ear to burn things, so I think it'll be okay for now. But if it starts trying to gnaw on my brain, I'll take you up on that offer."

She takes a moment, then asks, "Where did you get the suit, anyway?"

"Same place I get everything else. Ebay." He offered Aeryn a candy cane. "Want one? It's minty."

"No, thank you. I've actually got several already. What's an Ebay?"

"It's this place on the internet, the big computer network here, where you can buy stuff through your computer and have it sent to you."

"You went on the Ebay in order to be Sandy Clouds," she says. She considers this. "It's better than emo."

"Much better than emo. Emo can wait until New Year's Day, when I have the hangover from hell."

Aeryn raises her eyebrows. "Starting the new year with a hangover doesn't sound like the best of ideas..."

"I totally agree, but it seems to be a tradition every year."

"Tradition?" she repeats. "With the way I've seen people behave after too much alcohol, it's a miracle your species doesn't take a dive in population every cycle."

Kawalsky grinned. "Actually, plenty of alcohol usually leads to people getting together, which leads to an *increase* in the population."

"I'm sorry, I suddenly just thought about some of these people as parents, and I can't quite handle that."
