2nd floor common room, morning

Not able to sleep any longer, Cameron heads into the common room as he's scared he'll wake Vala up if he remains with her. Not that he'd mind waking her up, it feels like they haven't really had time for each other since they returned from Memphis. He's been asleep by the time she joins him in their room and when he wakes up, he doesn't want to bother her. Maybe he's just avoiding telling her about kissing Anders. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with what his father had said, that was for sure.

He stops when he notices the note from Beka and for a moment feels guilty that they'd drifted so much apart after the whole incident. Feeling even more melancholic, Cameron plops down on the couch, turns on the television and is grateful for morning cartoons.

Still fingering the note her older self had left, Angela roams the halls until she finds a common room with some activity in it. "Hey, Cam. What are you watching?"

"Thundercats," Cameron leans his head back over the arm of the chair so he's nearly watching her upside down. "Yo, Angela. Merry Christmas, even if it's a bit late."

"I loved that when I was little," Angela said, settling in to watch. "And Merry late Christmas to you, too. Did you do anything fun?"

"It's still good," he replied. "Vala and I went home to Memphis. It was nice. You?" He meant it, he's just not as enthusiastic about it as he was before he left.

"It was weird. Apparently I touched the wrong book in Special Collections last Wednesday, and there was this different, older me here for the week. So I missed Christmas. Have to go visit my mom next month to make up for it." She shifts in her chair, a little embarassed when she remembers what had happened to Cam. "I guess I'm lucky I wasn't a dog or anything, huh?"

Cameron blushed and rubbed his hands across his face. "I'm never going to live that one down. Yeah, the whole four paws thing is weird, but having an older you around? That's got to be freaky. Did you talk to her?"

"Nope. It was like we switched places or something, except I wasn't really anywhere. I had no idea the time had passed, which is pretty creepy."

"She left me a note, but it's just ... you know. Have fun, I can't tell you what to do, be nice to people. I wish she'd written more, but I guess she was in a hurry."

"But not existing is probably easier than having paws."

"I guess you don't remember trying to play catch in classes," Cameron said with a grin and shrugged as he considered what she said about the note. "Maybe it's better to not know?" Not that he was thinking about knowing that at one point he might possibly crash a plane and go MIA.

"Okay, I liked playing catch with doggy-you," Angela grins. "Sorry."

She chews on her lower lip, considering the options. "I think I'm glad to know she's, like, alive and happy, but I wouldn't want to know every single thing. It would be too weird, to walk around knowing all of that."

"I think you're right. It's easier just not knowing," he swallows and keeps his eyes on the television.

"Even if you know, nothing says that it will happen like that. Doesn't knowing mean that the timeline has already changed?" He glances at her.

"I think so?," Angela hazards. "But time travel stuff always kind of makes my head hurt."

She squints. "You're from now, right? More or less?"

"As far as I know," Cameron chuckles. "I'm probably not from the same reality, though. I don't think so anyway."
