Gym, way too early

Yeah, so it's insanely early but he's not getting fat and he could definitely use the extra training. Cameron is trying to beat the crap out of the punching bag. Here's to hoping the bag doesn't come back to knock him out.

Aeryn's surprised to see Cameron down here again this early. "Fall asleep early again?" she asks.

"Yep," Cameron aims a flurry of punches at the bag, it swings away and then back towards him dangerously. He ducks and then moves up to hit again. "You?"

"This is habit for me," she says, frowning.

He catches the bag between his gloves hands as it swings towards him and steadies it before looking at his watch. "Wow, didn't know it was that late already."

She raises an eyebrow. "How long have you been here?"

"Somewhere before 4am, I think." He rolls his shoulders and goes back to hitting the bag.

Aeryn considers this. "I do that occasionally," she says. "Usually when I'm upset that I can't be killing something."

He should probably be more surprised that Aeryn just talked about actually killing something and not just wanting to. Strangely enough, he's more thrown about her mentioning she gets upset, which he shouldn't be but there it is.

"I'm not upset," he grimaces as he hits the bag too hard. "Maybe a bit frustrated."

Aeryn can't really wrap her brain around a reason. She doesn't know that she's ever seen Cameron get frustrated. "Why?"

"Why?" Cameron pulled back, just letting the punching bag swing, and turned to Aeryn. "Because I worked my ass off last semester and it still wasn't enough. Because I don't know what the hell to do to prove to him that Vala is not a problem and isn't going to come between me and the Air Force." And if he sounded pissed off, it was wasn't at Aeryn so he turned back and punched the bag again.

This conversation actually sounds really familiar. "So prove it," she says. "Whoever you're proving this to, show them. But 4 am and onwards at the gym can eventually backfire on you. Just a warning."

"I know," the anger right away seeps away and he rubs a gloved hand across his face. "It's just easier than staring at the ceiling and waking Vala up because I can't lie still."

She understands that all too well. She seems to do that a lot here. "Is it helping?"

He laughs softly. "If falling asleep by 22:00 is helping..." He fights the temptation to yawn.

"If you're going to frell up your internal clock, you might as well do it while you don't have classes to worry about," she points out.

"I'm picked the right time then?" This time he does yawn.

"Unless you want to fail everything from the start and frell yourself over anyway, yes," she nods.

Cameron tilts his head and there's the smallest smile, but he tries his best to supress it. "You've got the annoying habit of being right."

"At least you admit it."

Cameron waves a hand. "My mom brought me up well," he grins and for a moment looks behidn Aeryn. "John didn't make it this morning?"

"I doubt he's going to want to make a habit of that," she says. "I could have gone easier on him." There is no hidden meaning there. Really.

"I'm thinking he deserved what he got coming," Cameron snickers. He doesn't know what made Aeryn drag John's ass down here in the first place, but his momma also raised him to know that the woman was always right. Or something like that anyway.

She's not about to admit that there had been a pinching fight and she'd been tackled, so she leaves it at, "He had to be taught a lesson. I think he learned." Mostly. Maybe?

He can't help but laugh at that. "You know, I'm not sure if John is capable of learning common sense."

Aeryn thinks John probably has a lot more common sense than most people see. "He likes to tease," she says, then thinks about it, and takes that 'more common sense' thought right back.
