Kiki has her door propped open, and is sitting on her bed. The fuzzy, round black pillow beside her is Jiji, curled into a happy and purring ball-of-cat. Kiki is writing something in her journal.


[Mostly for bruiser_in_pink but open for SP action - mun is still in Mexico, but will be home and back to near 24-7 comp access in a few days.]

Molly walked into the room and looked around before smiling at Kiki. "It's nice to meet you too."

She looked over at Jiji. "Cute kitty." She grinned. "So many people have pets here. My roommate even has a horse and a monkey living in the room next to ours." She looked around the room again with interest.

"I'm from L.A.," she said and shrugged. "I pretty much slept through the flight so it seemed to go pretty quickly." She looked back at Kiki again and grinned again.

[I suck! I thought I responded last night but I must not have hit the submit button after I spell checked it. Then I lost the internet and had to reboot and didn't even think about checking this post again. So very sorry. :( Molly isn't doing anything this evening, so I will be more attentive. I promise.]

"I had no idea someone managed to get a horse into the dorm - it doesn't smell?" Kiki laughs.

"Good to hear your trip was uneventful. Trust me, that's about the last time you'll have that happen!" Kiki explains. "Have you had a tour of campus yet?"

Molly shrugged. "Not so far," she chuckled.

"I've kind of been giving myself a tour. I live on the 5th floor, but after I called you, I went all the way down to the first floor and then walked by up here." She smiled. "I even stopped to help someone move."

"Great," Kiki grins, "The dorm is pretty straightforward, since most of the floors are alike. Have you met with any of the gremlins yet? You have to watch out for them - they seem to be laying low while people are moving in and getting settled, but I know they're watching. Really unpleasant, the gremlins," Kiki shakes her head.

"I've been warned about the gremlins, but I haven't seen any yet. This girl Cally said I should stay out of dark hallways."

"Pretty sensible advice," Kiki agrees. "Or if you have to go down one, make sure you're armed. Yeah, there is a school policy banning weapons, but you can always find something of use to protect yourself from them." Kiki kneels and rummages under her bed, and pulls out a violently green bottle marked only with a sharpie-written label as: "dAnjer! POysIn!"

"I found this in a cleaning closet over near the cafeteria back at the beginning of last semester," she explains. "I don't know what it is, and I don't know why it doesn't eat through the bottle, but I do know it burns holes in tile floors and dissolves gremlin feet."

Molly made a face at the mention of dissolving gremlin feet. "Ew." Then she made a dismissive gesture about the weapons. "I never use weapons. I'm strong enough to handle most things." She thought for a moment. "I don't know about gremlin bites though. I'll just avoid them as much as possible." She shrugged.

"Generally, I don't either - but the cleaner? Has saved me from a bite on a couple of occasions. I don't carry it with me at all times, though, so I have to rely on the tried and true method of flat out running." Kiki nods. "Best to avoid them - and avoid the basement, too, unless you are armed, because they tend to hide out there a lot, from what I've heard. I've never been curious enough to go down there to check it out myself," Kiki says, giving a small shudder.
