5th Floor Common Room - Sunday Noonish
After stowing the perishables from her trip to the Emporium in 504's mini-fridge. Pippi is sitting here very carefully writing a letter. There is an empty bottle with a cork in it.. Mr. Neilson is sitting on the table eating a banana.
Thank you for dropping me off. I was able to row the rest of the way just fine and am now getting settled into my dorm room here. I tried to give you a call on the phone thingy. But then I remembered you didn't have one.
I have a very nice roommate named Molly. She has lots of great hats! For some reason I can't quite put my finger on yet, I think we have a lot in common.
I think I now understand the comment you made about boys before I left. I have met some very nice ones. But really Papa, you have nothing to worry about.
I think I'm going to be on the Hockey team! One of the team members, Angel, left me a message about something I don't quite get. Didn't Fredolf used to play Hockey? Could you ask him to send me instructions on how a threesome works? Because I'd probably be good at it.
On my first day, I met a very nice girl, and then last night I met her again, but she was actually a totally different person! So I told her about Grandma Hilda and then we talked about guns.
I love you Papa,
Pippi
When she finishes her letter, she drops it in the bottle, and corks it. Then she starts to check out the common room kitchen, looking in cupboards, checking out the oven and the stove. Generally making a lot of rattling noises as she opens things, and closes things, and moves things around.
[[ooc: Open to anybody.

"Hullo - are you looking for something?"
no subject
"More like I'm looking at something. That is, the kitchen. I really love to cook and everybody keeps telling me to watch out for the cafeteria so..." She waves her hand around the kitchen... "I'm trying to figure out what I've got to work with."
She sits in the floor by the cupboard under the sink where she was going through some cleaning supplies from the late jurassic era.
"I was thinking about having some calling cards printed. 'Hello, I am Pippi Longstocking. I'm a new freshman from Sweden. I've heard about the gremlens and the Locker and Rover. It's very nice to meet you.'"
no subject
She walks over closer to peer over Pippi's shoulder into the cabinet. Crinkling her nose, Lily says, "Wow - I never thought to look through the supplies - it's not very... well, it's all rather dusty, isn't it?"
no subject
She sighs and looks into the cabinet. "Yes, I don't think anybody has thought to look through some of these since before any of us were born."
She notices a pair of yellow rubber gloves. She rinses them off and puts them on before she begins actually pulling out and dusting off the supplies.
"So is there anything else I need to be warned about or am I pretty much covered for now?"
no subject
"Hmm," she says, thinking. "Well, you said gremlins, and Locker 327, and Rover? And you seem to be alright with Witches and the like. So... I guess we're down to random animal transformations, immortals, vampires, zombies, people who are already dead somehow, and DEATH himself. He's a freshman too."
After a pause, she adds, "Oh, and you really don't want to get detention."
no subject
"I've met Angel, I gathered that he is a vampire? And I've met at least one or two demons in town. And DEATH is my assigned Big Brother!"
She continues cleaning as Lily mentions detention.
"... Does that have anything to do with the creepy apple pie?"
no subject
"Yes, Angel is a vampire, and there are a few in town also, I believe. Death is great - very passionate about things when he sets his mind to it." Rinsing the sponge, she says, "Creepy pie? I'm afraid you've got me stumped on that one!"
no subject
"I kept hearing stories about how the Principal gives out pie for punishment. Then I talked to somebody who got detention for loosing her clothes in a poker game and she said it was true. I asked her if it was good and she said it was creepy..."
Pippi emerged with smudges of grime on her nose and cheek.
"... I think her name was... Kelly?"
no subject
"I don't think you'll need to worry about creepy pie, though, because our principal left over break, and we've got a new one now. Principal Smith, if Im remembering correctly. I haven't met him yet."

Pippi moved onto the set of drawers next to the sink. She opened the top one and several pigons fluttered out, causing her to stumble back in surprise.
Confused and annoyed at being disturbed, the birds fluttered madly about the common room.
"Huh."

"People have been asking if Mr. Neilson and Old Man are students... Are these students?" She asks pointing up to the birds.
"If not, maybe we should open the windows or something and try to shoo them out... Unless it's okay for them to be here? I don't mind, but they might get in trouble living in the dorms without being students."
no subject
"If you want to open a window, I can get them out of here." Pulling out her wand again, she said, "Stand back." She performed an impedimenta jinx and the birds slowed to a stop and started to fall to the floor. Before they hit the ground she caught them in a levitation spell and they hovered a few feet above the ground.
no subject
Pippi opened a window with a lovely view out to the sea and grabbed the nearest bird from where it hovered above the floor.
"That's a great trick! ...Um, do we need to wait until this wears off before we release them outside?"

One by one Pippi collects the birds and places them on the windowsill for Lily to hover over to the tree.
"Hmm, while we have the window open..."
She retrieves the corked bottle with her letter in it and approaches the window. She winds up like a pitcher and lazaly throws the bottle out the window. The bottle sails through the air, over the buildings and trees. If one had very good eyesight indeed, they would see it sploosh into the water, about a mile or two out.
no subject
"Wow! That's some arm you've got there," she said, watching the bottle until it disappeared from her sight. "Assuming you weren't just littering, there was... a letter in there?"
no subject
Pippi decided to leave the window open since the air was getting kind of dusty from all the cleaning. She turned and looked down at the broken plates.
"Welp... I guess we're gonna need to replace the plates. Good thing I have credit at the Emporium."
She starts looking for a broom.
"Oh, um, yes. There was a letter for my Papa in the bottle. He'll get it at some point."
no subject
"Your Papa will get it eventually? Wow."
Lily turns back to the kitchen. "Oh, right, I forgot about the plates. Reparo," she says, with another wave of her wand. The broken peices picked themselves up and formed plates again, landing in a stack on the counter by the sink. Smiling at Pippi she says, "See? Dead useful."
no subject
Pippi went over to the sink and filled it with hot soapy water. Carefully she placed the newly reformed plates in the sink to soak and hopefully loosen the strata of whatever is still clinging to them. As she does that she says.
"I think I saw somebody out on the lawn with some kind of game (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/371002.html) when I opened the window. You wanna go down and see what they are up to while these soak?"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm definitely up for taking a break - it'll probably take awhile for the muck to dissolve anyway."
