The Front Lawn, Sunday Afternoon
Croquet, anyone? Zero has set up the set Rory gave her for Christmas in front of the dorm, and is trying to figure out how exactly this game works without actually, y'know, consulting the rules.

In her intence concentration, she could hear Mrs. Settergren's advice to her before she left Villa Villekulla... "Don't show off. Try to be a normal child once and a while, you might like it."
don't show off don't show off don't show off
Ever so gently Pippi tapped the ball. It rolled through the first arch and a little farther. As if it realised it was going the wrong way, the ball curved around of it's own accord and rolled back, it made a sharp turn towards the second arch and rolled to a stop.
Pippi breathed a sigh of relief and tapped the ball again. It came to rest against the side of the second arch.
"Your turn Lily."

By now she's getting a bit restless and less conserned with Mrs. Mrs. Settergren's advise. She winds up like a golfer to hit the ball, then remembers that it's not her set. So she lowers the mallet a bit and gives it a good solid hit.
This sends the ball up into the air where it bounces off a tree and lands near Zero's ball; bouncing into it which sends it up into the air and lands the green ball a few feet closer to the playing field...
"... Oops."

She stepped up and hit hers neatly towards the third loop, landing directly in front of it but not going through.

She gets up, brushes herself off and taps the ball.
It rolls along towards the green and yellow balls, bumping up against them with a soft *clack*.
All three are now clustered together in front of the third loop.

Once again, Pippi lays down and lines up the shot. She seems pleased with what she sees and uses the other end of the mallet like a pool que. As she brings the handle forward to strike the ball she slips a bit in the grass and hits in the wrong spot.
The ball spins at an angle just a tad to sharp and ends up resting, again, agents the side of the loop.
Pippi looks up at Zero. "Are these things made with magnets?" she asks with a sheepish grin.

Pippi yelled after her. "JUST BRING IT BACK UP TO BEFORE WHERE IT STARTED TO ROLL DOWN!" That seemed fare...
Pippi tapped the ball which rolled through the third loop. Then tapped it again to end inside the fourth.
"Well I don't think that counts as through so I guess it's your turn Lily."
Lily then made an incredible shot that was completely awesome, but Pippi was looking up at the tree where they had sent the birds from the kitchen and Zero was still coming back up the hill so nobody saw it.
She didn't mind however, she was satisfied enough in a job well done.

"The School is very accommodating. My friends' mother didn't think they would let me bring my horse Old Man, or my Monkey Mr. Neilson with me. But they did and even gave them a room next to mine! Old Man usually only comes inside for parties, so he's going to be sooooo spoilt by the time we're done here."
The orange ball came to rest near the 5th loop but at a bad angle. So Pippi tapped it into a better position. And let Lily take her turn.
